Ferro Falls in a Flurry of Eliminations

After no eliminations for over an hour, three have come in quick succession, highlighted by the elimination of Jacob Ferro.

After Toby Boas opened to 20,000 in early position, John Bellotte three-bet to 60,000 in the hijack and Ferro ripped 250,000 from the cutoff.

Boas folded, but Pellotte called.

Ferro was racing for his tournament life, and the flop didn't help, giving Pellotte top pair. The brought hope with a flush draw, but the river finished off Ferro and sent a big pot to Pellotte.

Meanwhile, Mark Goulding limp-jammed from the small blind for about 160,000 into Michael Frierson's in the big blind and got no help from the board to send him to the rail as well.

Finally, across the room Derek Sacoff was also gathering his belongings as he was eliminated next, bringing the field one elimination away from the three-table redraw.

Macella Brings the Four-Bet

Maxwell Young opened the actioon with a raise to 18,000 in middle position and was met with a three-bet to 50,000 from Hyndi Khomutetsky in the cutoff.

Justin Macella then cold four-bet from the big blind to 135,000.

Young folded quickly but Khomutetsky gave her decision some brief thought before opting to fold, sending a healthy pot to Macella without seeing a flop.

Wells Making Another Run Towards the Final Table

Adam Wells, who finished 3rd in this event last year has built himself a stack on Day 2 and is threatening to make back-to-back final tables.

In a recent hand he raised to 16,000 from middle position and was called by Derek Sacoff in the hijack and James Solana in the small blind.

The flop came and after Solana checked, Wells bet 32,000. Sacoff folded, but Solana called.

On the turn, Solana checked again, then called a bet of 80,000.

The players checked through the river and Soalana showed for a stubborn pair of sixes that also missed a gutshot straight draw.

Wells showed for a winning pair of nines to boost his stack over 700,000.
