Bennett Binks

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

Faced with a bet of 6,100 on a flop of {9-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{10-Spades}, Brent Bennett moved all in for effectively 22,000 or so. His opponent looked to the sky as he tanked, and without diverting his eyes from the ceiling he announced a call.

Bennett revealed {j-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for an open-ended straight draw and a flush draw, and his opponent tabled {k-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} for top pair.

The {5-Hearts} on the turn changed nothing, but the {q-Hearts} on the river gave Bennett a queen-high straight.

"What the f***!" the all-in player bemoaned before confirming that he would be reentering.

Bennett pulled in the pot, and now has around 70,000 chips.

A Kap Gun Fires Real Bullets

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

With the board reading {6-Hearts}{4-Spades}{5-Spades}{9-Diamonds} by the turn James Kaplan's last 16,000 or so were committed with an all-in wager.

His opponent peered over from across the table and studied for a moment, before casually announcing "I'll call ya."

Kaplan quickly rolled over his {A-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} and waited to see which draws he would be fading.

"Oh... nice hand sir," said his opponent. "I'm dead."

Every poker players fears the dreaded early congratulation, and Kaplan rightfully asked to see the other man's cards to confirm that he had no outs to speak of.

Sure enough, his opponent tabled the {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} for no pair and no draw, apparently reading Kaplan for a straight or flush draw with no pair. After the meaningless {8-Diamonds} dropped in on the river, the sizable pot was pushed to Kaplan, while the man tried to play the hero was left with just a 1,000 or so to work with.

Joltin' Joe D.

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

The final board showed {k-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{4-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{5-Hearts} when Joe Domyslawski saw his lone opponent bet 2,000.

Domyslawski held just {A-Spades}{10-Spades} for ace-ten high, but he decided to try and push the other player off the pot with a raise to 6,500.

The other player was not impressed by the move though, and he made the call rather quickly while tabling {A-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for yet another ace-high, no pair holding. Despite the opponent's protestations to the contrary, Domyslawski's ten kicker played and he was awarded the sizable pot.

When we arrived at the table, a player was all in and at risk for 14,575 on a flop of {6-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{6-Hearts}. An opponent tanked for a considerable amount of time before folding, and Wallace "Gator" Richardson made the call.

Richardson: {7-Spades}{6-Spades}
Opponent: {10-Hearts}{7-Hearts}

The opponent missed his flush draw as the turn and river bricked off {j-Clubs}, {3-Clubs} respectively, and Richardson pulled in the pot. He's up to 70,000 chips.

Joe Galazzo Scores a Golazo

Level 6 : 250/500, 50 ante

After tapping the table for a check on the {10-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} board, Joe Galazzo saw the river card come {a-Spades}.

His lone opponent fired out a 12,000 wager into an already decent-sized pot, and Golazzo deliberated for about a minute before suddenly pushing his whole stack forward. The river bettor immediately winced at the development, and within seconds his hand was pushed into the muck.

Why So Serious?

Level 6 : 250/500, 50 ante

Continuing an unusual trend during this Borgata Spring Poker Open, a recent hand we just recorded and reported came to a close with the winner refusing to provide his name.

Privacy is every American's right of course, and we have no reason to pry, but typically players who are still busily stacking their new chips are more than happy to brag about that fact.

In any event, a player opened for 1,750 from UTG+1 and the short-stacked young man playing in incognito mode came over the top for his last 9,275.

The original bettor opted to look Mr. Mystery up with {Q-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}, only to find himself dominated by {K-Hearts}{q-Clubs}. The flop rolled out {8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{j-Clubs} to give the caller the lead, but the {k-Diamonds} on the turn restored order. The river came {6-Clubs} to keep the pair of kings out in front, and with that the player with no name doubled through.

Miss One Draw, Make the Other

Level 6 : 250/500, 50 ante

Acting from the small blind, Ty Purnell fired a bet of 6,000 into an already large pot with the board reading {2-Spades}{q-Spades}{2-Clubs}{8-Clubs} by the turn.

His lone opponent in the hand decided to see the river and he flatted the bet, watching as the {10-Clubs} rained down.

Purnell immediately moved all in for his last 16,000 or so, and after two minutes of intense concentration, his opponent made the call to put nearly the same amount at risk. When he saw Purnell roll over the {j-Spades}{9-Spades} for a missed spade flush draw, the other player briefly appeared to think the pot was his, but the dealer's succinct announcement of "Straight!" told him the score. His last chips were sent across the table just before the impending break.
