Jordan Cristos Eliminated in 27th Place ($33,967)

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Jordan Cristos - 27th Place
Jordan Cristos - 27th Place

A short-stacked Jordan Cristos was in the big blind and moved all in for 144,00 after Curt Kohlberg raised it to 32,000 from the cutoff. Kohlberg made the call. Cristos held {A-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and Kohlberg {K-Hearts}{J-Spades}.

The flop came {Q-Clubs}{5-Spades}{3-Spades} keeping Cristos in the lead.

The turn was the {4-Diamonds} and Cristos was one card from the double up.

The river had other plans for Cristos, however, as it was the {K-Diamonds} giving Kohlberg a pair of Kings and sending Cristos home in 27th place. A great World Poker Tour season for the young man regardless of how it ended here today.

Jonathan Tamayo - 28th Place
Jonathan Tamayo - 28th Place

Jonathan Tamayo, who won his way into the WPT World Championship thanks to DraftKings.com and a game-winning home run from New York Mets backup catcher Anthony Recker, open-shoved for 140,000 in early position, and Ray Qartomy called a few spots to his left. The rest of the players got out of the way.

Tamayo: {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Qartomy: {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}

Tamayo failed to improve as the board came out {2-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{k-Spades}{2-Diamonds}, and hit the rail in 28th place.

The remaining 27 players are now guaranteed at least $33,967.

Dever Enjoying the Friendly Confines

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Cathy Dever
Cathy Dever

Cathy Dever is a Borgata regular who has accumulated $135,984 in live earnings, with the bulk of her cashes coming right here in the friendly confines of the Borgata Poker Room.

Today, Dever has survived through the money bubble despite riding a short stack all day, and after clashing with the tournament's overwhelming chip leader Eric Afriat, she can stick around to enjoy this experience a little longer.

By making the money in the WPT World Championship - something many of the game's greatest players failed to do on Day 3 - Dever has already earned more than she ever has before for a live cash, but she has her sights set on something special. A recent double just might give her the momentum she needs to reach another goal: the final table.

Dever got her last 142,000 into the middle by three-bet shoving, coming over the top of Curt Kohlberg's open to 24,000, and Afriat's flat. Kohlberg got out of the way but Afriat called her down with {K-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} while saying "I'll give you action."

Action was right, as Dever held {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs} and made top set on the {j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop. The sweat continued though, with Afriat flopping an open-ended straight draw, but the turn ({6-Clubs}) and river ({2-Diamonds}) missed his hand, sending the pot to the Borgata's newest local hero.

Two Doubles During Break

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Ryan D'Angelo
Ryan D'Angelo

There were two doubles during the break, barring us from getting full counts from around the room.

In the first, Hans Winzeler raised to 28,000 in middle position, Yuval Harosh called on the button, and Ryan D'Angelo re-raised to 80,000 out of the small blind. Winzeler folded, and Harosh called.

The flop fell {6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}, D'Angelo led out for 60,000, and Harosh moved all in for 250,000. D'Angelo called.

Harosh: {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}
D'Angelo: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

Harosh flopped top set of nines, and was in great shape to send D'Angelo packing, but the {k-Clubs} spiked on the turn to give D'Angelo a superior set. Only the case nine could eliminate D'Angelo on the river, but the {5-Hearts} on the river was a meaningless card.

He doubled to 714,000 chips, while Harosh dropped down to 650,000.

At an adjacent table, three players took a flop of {7-Clubs}{4-Spades}{k-Spades}; Brock Parker, Bobby Oboodi, and Byron Kaverman. Parker led out for a bet of 28,000 into a pot of around 100,000, Oboodi moved all in for 174,000, and only Parker called.

Parker: {k-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}
Oboodi: {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}

Parker needed to catch a king or running fours to eliminate Oboodi, and the latter held as the turn and river bricked off {6-Diamonds}, {10-Hearts} respectively.

Hawkins Doubles

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Maurice Hawkins
Maurice Hawkins

The ever boisterous and camera-friendly Maurice Hawkins came in for a raise from the hijack seat. Ryan D'Angelo put in a three-bet from the big blind, Hawkins four-bet shoved for 309,000, and D'Angelo called.

Hawkins: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}
D'Angelo: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

There was yet another all-in pot featuring pocket aces, and they again held up on a board of {5-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}. Hawkins doubled to 630,000 chips, while D'Angelo fell to 360,000.

Loni Harwood Eliminated in 29th Place ($30,085)

Loni Harwood - 29th Place
Loni Harwood - 29th Place

Keven Stammen opened for a raise to 26,000 in the hijack seat, Loni Harwood moved all in for around 200,000 from the big blind, and Stammen snap-called.

Stammen: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}
Harwood: {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

Like Blake Bohn, Harwood was up against a wired pair of aces, and failed to improve as the flop, turn, and river produced {3-Spades}{2-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{7-Spades}{6-Hearts}.

The WPT Ones to Watch member and WSOP gold bracelet winner did one last interview before exiting the tournament area and picking up her $30,085.

Matt Stout Eliminated in 30th Place ($30,085)

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Matt Stout - 30th Place
Matt Stout - 30th Place

After getting a shove through, Matt Stout moved all in again, this time for 212,000 from under the gun. Curt Kohlberg just called in middle position, and there were no other takers.

Stout: {k-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Kohlberg: {j-Hearts}{j-Spades}

The two players were off to the races, and the {8-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} flop changed very little. Neither did the {2-Hearts} on the turn, or the repeat deuce - the {2-Diamonds} - on the river. Stout will receive $30,085 for his efforts here in the WPT World Championship.

Blake Bohn - 31st Place

Tom Dobrilovic raised to 25,000 in early position, Eric Afriat called in the hijack, and Blake Bohn re-raised to 104,000 on the button. Dobrilovic got out of the way, Afriat clicked it back, four-betting to around 200,000, and Bohn moved all in for what looked like 640,000. Afriat snap-called.

Afriat: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}
Bohn: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}

Bohn was in rough shape against Afriat's aces, and the pocket rockets held up on a board of {2-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}. The MSPT regular hit the rail, while the latest WPT Champions Club member pulled in a massive pot to push his stack to 1.75 million.

Slick Meets the Gunslinger

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Jesse Sylvia
Jesse Sylvia

Jesse Sylvia opened to 28,000 from under the gun and Maurice Hawkins three-bet to 69,000, with the action folding around to Sylvia after the pressure play.

Sylvia decided to take a flop and he flatted the reraise, bringing the {6-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{7-Hearts} to the table. He checked to Hawkins and watched as four of the red T25000 chips were tossed into the middle. Not long after that Sylvia went for the kill, moving all in for 330,000 more and putting Hawkins to the test.

Hawkins asked for a count and then stood up to perch on his knee, talking himself through the hand.

"Why didn't you shove preflop?" he asked rhetorically, before directing his own answer at Sylvia. "Because you knew I'd snap you off."

Hawkins then uncapped his cards and showed his snapping hand - {a-Spades}{k-Spades} - before beginning every poker player's most common complaint, wondering why he had to have big slick so many times when baby card boards hit the felt.

Jason Koon Eliminated in 32nd Place ($30,085)

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Jason Koon - 32nd Place
Jason Koon - 32nd Place

Ray Qartomy raised to 25,000 from the cutoff, Jason Koon announced "two-hundred -and-four thousand" on the button, going all in, and Tony Dunst re-shoved in the big blind. Qartomy folded, revealing the {a-Spades}.

Koon: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Dunst: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}

One of Dunst's aces was dead, but there were plenty of kings still left in the deck, and two of them appeared on the {k-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{k-Clubs} flop. Koon was suddenly drawing to the two remaining nines in the deck, and neither appeared on the turn ({3-Clubs}) or the river ({7-Clubs}).

Koon exited in 32nd place, while Dunst is up to 505,000 chips.
