Hi, Heimiller

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante
Dan Heimiller
Dan Heimiller

Dan Heimiller just sat down in the $2,700 buy-in Borgata Spring Poker Open Championship event, and while he may not look like your typical grinder, there are only two players ahead of him in the 2014 Global Poker Index Player of the Year race; Dominik Panka and Keven Stammen.

Heimiller has been hitting the circuit hard during the first three-and-a-half months, cashing in 14 events in five different states. He hasn't booked any victories yet, but he reached two HPT final tables, and finished 36th in the WPT LA Poker Classic. All-in-all, Heimiller has $148,482 in earnings.

We'll keep an eye on Heimiller as he tries to add to his already impressive 2014 right here at Borgata.

Aaron Massey

Aaron Massey has taken his seat here but he might be a little distracted right now as his brother, Ralph, is at the final table of World Series of Poker Circuit event in Cherokee holding the chip lead.

"I might have a little piece of him," Aaron said and then joked "my phone is going to die", referring to his constant checking in to see how his bro is doing.

Stefanski Doubles

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Johannes Mueller raised to 550 in early position, Greg Ostrander called in the hijack seat, Dave Stefanski called in the cutoff, and the rest of the players folded.

The dealer spread a flop of {7-Hearts}{10-Spades}{j-Clubs}, both Mueller and Ostrander checked, and Stefanski fired out 800. Both of his opponents called.

The turn was the {4-Diamonds}, the two players out of position checked again, and Stefanski flicked forward another 2,050. This time, only Ostrander called.

A repeat ten - the {10-Hearts} - completed the board, and Ostrander knuckled a third time. Stefanski moved all in for 6,675, Ostrander tank-called, and Stefanski revealed {7-Spades}{7-Clubs} for a flopped set of sevens turned full house.

"Nice hand," Ostrander told him.

You Bet Me Out...

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante
James Woods
James Woods

A woman with a short stack moved all in for 2,625 and received three callers including She Lok Wong and James Woods. The flop came {9-Clubs}{8-Spades}{3-Hearts} and Woods bet 8,500 leaving himself with approximately 9,000. Wong thought long and hard but decided against making the call. The third player in the hand folded as well.

Woods had {4-}{4-} while the all in player had {A-}{7-}.

"Don't do it to me," Woods said, leaning forward to look at whatever the dealer put out on the turn.

It was the {6-Diamonds} and it looked like the dealer just might do it so Woods sent another reminder... "Don't do it!"

The river was the {K-Hearts} and a gracious Woods told the dealer "thank you" while Wong told Woods "nice bet... you bet me out."

Levine and Saul Play an Interesting One

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

Brett Richey raised to 500 from under the gun, Peter Ippolito called on the button, Matt Levine re-raised to 1,800 out of the small blind, and Kevin Saul cold four-bet to 3,475 from the big blind. The action folded back to Levine, who just called, and both players checked on the flop ({a-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{8-Hearts}) and the turn ({5-Spades}).

The river was a second ace and a third heart - the {a-Hearts} - and Levine moved all in for 10,500. Saul tanked for a bit, then folded.

The Wrath of Khan

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante
Junayed Khan
Junayed Khan

We walked by a table and saw a re-raise of 20,525 sitting in front of Junayed Khan. You might think that would be an all in raise at this point but it was actually only for a moderate percentage of Khan's stack. His opponent had a bet of 2,900 in front of him and decided he was not going to tangle with Khan who is obviously running good right now with a stack that is four times the starting stack.

Tavss Taken Out

John Tavss (Event 3) - Eliminated
John Tavss (Event 3) - Eliminated

Mike Jarvela just eliminated John Tavss moments ago, but we unfortunately missed the action. Thankfully Jarvela was kind enough to fill us in on the details.

According to the victor, Tavss was all in with {q-}{j-} on a flop of {10-}{9-}{6-} with two hearts, and Jarvela had him at risk with {10-}{9-}. Tavss did not complete his straight, and hit the rail.

Jarvela chipped up to 62,000.
