Little and Volpe Add Some

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

In what looked to be a three-bet pot preflop, Jonathan Little and Peter Ippolito were heads up on a flop of {9-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{6-Spades}. Little check-called a bet of 2,200, both players knuckled after the {k-Hearts} came on the turn, and the {7-Spades} completed the board.

Little led out, bombing 13,400, and Ippolito opted to fold.

The next hand, Paul Volpe raised in middle position, Brett Richey called on his direct left, and the rest of the players folded. Volpe tossed out a continuation bet of 700 on a flop of {8-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{6-Spades}, Richey called, and the pair checked on the turn ({k-Clubs}).

Volpe fired another 3,000, Richey called, and Volpe took the pot with {a-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}.

Two Old Nits

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante
Kevin Saul
Kevin Saul

Kevin Saul has exited the tournament at the hands of Jonathan Little who joked after the hand "we're just two old nits". Saul immediately went to re-enter, something we'll be seeing a lot of as players have until the end of Level 6 to re-enter today and can fire as many bullets as they wish. There is another flight tomorrow as well.

The players at Little's table might have thought their table would get a little easier with Saul's elimination but his empty seat was filled by Paul Volpe.

Alwan Folds

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

Anthony Garofalo moved all in for 18,200 into a pot of around 50,000 on a board of {2-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{9-Spades}. Khaled Alwan tanked for a considerable amount of time, so long that Melanie Weisner opted to call the clock.

Alwan wasted little time after that, folding {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts} face up. Garofalo send his cards into the muck facedown.

Gags' River Raise

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

Matt Levine fired out a bet of 1,600 into a pot of around 3,000 on a board of {4-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{7-Diamonds}. His opponent, Mike Gagliano, called, and the {3-Hearts} completed the board.

Levine led out again - this time for 2,000 - and Gagliano put in a raise, making it 7,200 to go. Levin shifted in his seat, tanked for nearly two minutes, then folded.

Tavss Taken Out

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante
John Tavss (Event 3) - Eliminated
John Tavss (Event 3) - Eliminated

Mike Jarvela just eliminated John Tavss moments ago, but we unfortunately missed the action. Thankfully Jarvela was kind enough to fill us in on the details.

According to the victor, Tavss was all in with {q-}{j-} on a flop of {10-}{9-}{6-} with two hearts, and Jarvela had him at risk with {10-}{9-}. Tavss did not complete his straight, and hit the rail.

Jarvela chipped up to 62,000.

The Wrath of Khan

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante
Junayed Khan
Junayed Khan

We walked by a table and saw a re-raise of 20,525 sitting in front of Junayed Khan. You might think that would be an all in raise at this point but it was actually only for a moderate percentage of Khan's stack. His opponent had a bet of 2,900 in front of him and decided he was not going to tangle with Khan who is obviously running good right now with a stack that is four times the starting stack.

Levine and Saul Play an Interesting One

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

Brett Richey raised to 500 from under the gun, Peter Ippolito called on the button, Matt Levine re-raised to 1,800 out of the small blind, and Kevin Saul cold four-bet to 3,475 from the big blind. The action folded back to Levine, who just called, and both players checked on the flop ({a-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{8-Hearts}) and the turn ({5-Spades}).

The river was a second ace and a third heart - the {a-Hearts} - and Levine moved all in for 10,500. Saul tanked for a bit, then folded.
