One Start Stack Divvied Up Between Schiff and Babos

Level 6 : 400/800, 800 ante
Ronan Babos
Ronan Babos

In the first hand, the flop read {7-Clubs}{j-Spades}{8-Hearts} with just over 11,000 in the middle already. The player in the hijack checked and Emile Schiff bet 3,000 from the button which was called. The turn was the {q-Diamonds} and Schiff's continuation-bet of 9,000 was check-called again. The river completed the board with the {5-Spades} and Schiff's opponent checked for the last time. Schiff fired a bet of 20,500 into the pot and that was enough to get the fold.

The hand after, the same player raised to 2,000 from under the gun and was called by the player in the hijack, Schiff in the cutoff, and Ronan Babos on the button. The flop came {9-Spades}{3-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}, it was checked to Schiff who bet 3,500. Babos called but the under-the-gun player raised to 10,000. The hijack and Schiff folded but Babos called.

The turn brought them the {10-Diamonds}, the initial raiser fired a bet of 15,000 over the line, Babos responded with a raise which was instantly met by a shove of his opponent. Babos quickly called with {8-Diamonds}{7-Spades} for the turned straight. The other player held {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs} for the set of sixes and needed the board to pair up to stay in the tournament. But the river completed the board with the {q-Hearts} for this player's first bullet to fail to hit any targets.
