Welcome to PokerNews' live coverage of Day 2 of the 2016 Cash Game Festival London at Aspers Casino Westfield Stratford City.

The festival kicked off yesterday with welcome drinks, however, many couldn't wait as there were already six tables running before the the official action began. As the day and night progressed, the room was full of action with 15 tables running for a few hours. Festival organizers are expecting the room to be even more full for Day 2.

As was the case yesterday, the first televised feature table today will be £1/£2 no-limit hold'em at 5:30 p.m. (BST) on a 20 minute delay before the table switches up to higher stakes to £5/£10 no-limit hold'em at 8:30 p.m. Many players will be taking part in a televised poker table for the first time, along with a mix of players that have played on the feature table during prior festivals.

Brandon Allen will once again be leading the commentary with guests popping in and out. You will be able to check out the action here on PokerNews as well as on the Cash Game Festival website and on the Cash Game Festival Twitch channel.

While many players are already playing today with seven full tables of ring-games taking place right now, many others are enjoying the wonders of London or taking part in a two-hour darts competition at the Flight Club Darts.

The PokerNews Live Reporting Team will be providing updates with some 2016 Cash Game Festival London throughout the day with coverage beginning at around 5:30 p.m. (BST) when the feature table kicks off.

Lots of Familiar Faces at the First Feature Table

Daniel Nasman
Daniel Nasman

The first feature table of the evening with with the action at £1/£2 no-limit hold'em kicked off a few minutes ago with many familiar faces from prior Cash Game Festivals.

However, the first two players are more familiar to locals rather than to Cash Game Festival enthusiasts. Steve Bruce, a dealer at the Empire Casino is in seat one and shared he has 10 years worth of poker experience. This is a Bruce's first-ever feature table experience and he hoping some liquid courage helps him overcome his nerves shared that he plans to "adapt to the different styles" from his opponents and that he is is "a bit nervous, that's why I'm drinking!"

Fellow local player, Charlie White, is a recreational poker player who makes a living as a recruitment manager. Despite never appearing on a feature table before, White is confident sharing that he plans "to smash it!"

Brendon Krabill is a familar name to anyone that has been to or followed a Cash Game Festival this year as he has now been at all four. Originally from Texas, and now living in the UK, Krabill always appears confident on the table and appeared to be having fun while shipping pots just before the action began at a £5/£5 dealer's choice pot-limit Omaha table.

Bulgaria's Nickolay J. Petrov is in seat 4, and he won his way to London thanks to shipping the no-limit hold'em high hand jackpot last month during the Cash Game Festival Bulgaria at Platinum Casino. This is Petrov's first time in the British capital and appears impressed with the poker action. When he is not playing poker, he is a musician in a heavy metal band.

Italy's Mauro Suriano might not be a Cash Game Festival veteran, however, he did get some experience on the feature table yesterday during Day 1.

Sweden's Daniel Nasman considers poker as a hobby. He is normally a bartender and shared, "Playing poker is all about having fun!" Nasman also attended the last Cash Game Festival and notched up some televised feature table experience.

Sweden's Niklas Blomquest is in seat 7 and attended the Cash Game Festival Malta that took place a few months ago where he appeared on the feature table. He shared he plans to "play solid and wait for the good spots."

Guts.com player Eirik Thorvaldsen from Norway is the self declared "head of poker." Despite such an ambitious title, Thorvaldsen shared that he is "super nervous" to appear on the feature table despite this not being his first experience in front of the camera as he previously played on a feature table at the Norwegian Masters.

Action Table of Sviten Special Opens

Sviten Special, otherwise known as Drawmaha, is an action-packed pot-limit game invented in Sweden which incorporates both 5-card draw and Omaha.

Chips are already flying with Cash Game Festival co-founder Martin "Franke" von Zweigbergk and Cash Game Festival veterans Kalle Fagerstrom and Peter La Terra also on the table.

While the stakes are just £1/£2, based on the nature of the split-pot game, it is already playing much bigger than the £5/£5 pot-limit Omaha table and the £2/£5 no-limit hold'em tables it is next to.

Charlie White Doubles Off Mauro Suriano Set Over Set

Mauro Suriano
Mauro Suriano

Big hand early on for UK's Charlie White on the televised feature table as he got it all in with {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} against Mauro Suriano who was holding {2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}. Normally hitting your set with ducks when a {2-} hits the flop gives you a chance to get paid off. However, Suriano was very far behind due to the flop a {9-} also hitting the flop giving White and an even bigger set.

17 Tables and Growing

Cash Game Festival London
Cash Game Festival London

There is already more action in the Aspers Casino poker room than yesterday with 17 tables up and running. The highest stakes games are currently a £2/£5 no-limit hold'em game and a £5/£5 pot-limit Omaha table, however, a £1/£2 Sviten Special table is generating the biggest pots on average.

All of these games are likely to be trumped on the second feature table which begins in about an hour on a 20 minute delay with players buying in deep for £5/£10 no-limit hold'em.
