Day 1f Started
Welcome back to another exciting day of poker here at the Winter Poker Open hosted by Champions Club poker room in Houston, Texas. Today will feature the sixth and final starting flight, Day 1f, of Event #15: $1 Million GTD $1,500 Main Event!
The current stack to beat is held by Kassim Panjwani from yesterday's Day 1f, who bagged a whopping 2,337,000. Since yesterday's flight garnered an impressive 290 entries, only 138 more are needed to reach the $1 million guarantee, with some projections expecting 350+ today.
This flight will kick off at noon local time and registration will be open for a whopping nine hours and fifteen minutes (approximately 9:15 pm) and play will continue until 12% of the field remains.
Players will receive a starting stack of 60,000 and levels will be 40 minutes in length for all starting flights, and then will be increased to 60 minutes on Day 2.
The two-day event culminates with a live-streamed final table on Monday, February 19 once all survivors from the six opening flights have been thinned to nine remaining contenders. Those opening flight returnees will come back to the Champions Club poker room at noon tomorrow to continue their chase for a six-figure payday.
Stay tuned into PokerNews as we will be providing you with all of the action here at Champions Club!

Elias Nasr opened to 600 from middle position and was called by three players to see a flop of 10♠6♦7♦. The action checked through the flop and the four players went to the turn 7♠ where again action was checked to Nasr, who then bet 1,000 and was called by Christopher Zuniga on the button, but then Jignesh Patel check-raised to 3,500.
Nasr decided he'd had enough and got out of the way but Zuniga was a non-believer and made the call.
When the river came the K♣, Patel fired for 3,800 and received a hasty fold from Zuniga to win himself the pot.

On a heads-up completed board of 9♣A♠2♥9♣6♣, there was already a sizeable pot of 30,000 between Paul Lentschke and Michael Wang when Wang bet 25,000 after a check from Lentschke.
Lentschke quickly tossed out the chips to call and tabled A♥Q♦ for a pair of aces, only to be shown A♦Q♥ by Wang for the same hand. No players were harmed in the making of this hand as they chopped up their own chips.

Mark Davis opened to 600 and was then immediately three-bet to 2,200 by Ashley Frank who just sat down. The action then folded back to Davis who made the call to see a flop of 2♦K♦10♥.
Davis checked to Frank who continued for 1,700, which he called to see the turn 5♥.
Both players decided to check and went to the river 8♦, where the action went check-check again.
Frank then tabled J♣J♦ but was then shown K♥Q♦ by Davis for a flopped top pair of kings to take down the pot.
"Great way to start!" Frank joked as she prepared for her second hand of the day.

On a heads-up flop of Q♦5♥6♠, Robert Cooper checked to Jignesh Patel on the button who bet 10,000 into the already sizeable pot of 25,000. After some thought, Cooper made the call and they went to the turn 5♣ and the action went check-check.
The river came the K♣ and Cooper checked to Patel who fired for 15,000.
"I fold," Cooper announced as he tossed in his cards, "I should have folded on the flop, you've got pocket kings, 100%."
"No pocket kings," Patel assured him, "No chance I check pocket kings on that turn."
