Pappas Doubles Through Schwartz

When we arrived at the table, the board was completed {10-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{2-Spades}. Art Pappas fired 25,000 into a pot of around 65,000, and Justin Schwartz moved all in for 262,000 more.

Pappas went into the tank, then made the call.

Schwartz unhappily turned over {a-Spades}{3-Diamonds} for a pair of threes, and Pappas tabled {q-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} for a pair of queens.

Roughly a minute after Pappas raked in the pot, Schwartz (not happy with his opponent's call) called his Pappas an idiot. Pappas fired back, asking Schwartz to show some respect, to which Schwartz said, "You have my chips, I can call you whatever I want."

Nuts vs. Second-Nuts

Patrick Chan opened to 20,000 from the hijack seat. Art Pappas called on the button, and the dealer fanned {8-Spades}{k-Spades}{5-Hearts}. Chan led for 20,000, Pappas called, and the turn brought the {q-Spades}.

Chan led again - this time for 50,000 - and Pappas called.

The {3-Spades} completed the board, and Chan emptied the chamber, firing a third and final bullet worth 200,000. Pappas called with {k-Clubs}{j-Spades} for the second-nut straight, but Chan tabled {a-Spades}{9-Diamonds} for the nuts.

He increased his stack to 740,000, while Pappas slipped to 330,000.
