PokerNews didn't ask how he felt when the day ended, but Alexis Kivu was probably relieved after he almost bubbled Day 1a and failed to qualify on 1b. He finally made it and will be back on Day 2 with 271,000. Same feeling for Jonathan Klingenberg, who had a short stack but burst the bubble in a three-way all in to finish with 239,000, or for Andreia Coman. She had to fire a few bullets in the last days, but secured a stack of 103,000 chips.
For the last places on Day 2, players of Day 1d had to wait almost until sunrise to qualify, as Emeric Farkas was eliminated on the bubble at 5:40 a.m., after nineteen full levels of play. In the end, 13 players made it to Day 2, led by Dumitru Barta (657,000), who struggled to count his stack because of tiredness, and by Doru Horghidan (515,000).
Among all four flights, 69 players reached Day 2. However, there will be 73 players tomorrow, Saturday, November 11, as four lucky men out of a field of 30 entrants qualified through an Online Day. Claudiu Spatariu (461,000), Razvan Paduraru (268,000), Gheorghe Butuc (246,000), and Maciej Plocki (225,000) will now have to use their skills live.
Day 2 is set to begin at 2 p.m. local time, picking up at the earliest finishing time from one of the starting flights (25:00 in Level 14, 3,000/5,000 and a 5,000 big blind ante). Levels will also increase to 45 minutes, and the payouts will be announced at the beginning of the Day.
PokerNews will follow the action the entire way and provide live updates as the field whittles toward the final nine.
