Scarf Boy Doubles Up

George Danzer made a name for himself at the 2006 WSOP when he was "that guy wearing the scarf." You might remember him from such moments on ESPN's telecast of the WSOP Main Event when he lost a big hand to Dimitri Nobles and was so angry about the suckout that he had to walk away from the TV table and take a few minutes to compose himself.

Shaniac's Bad Beat

Three way all-in. Shaniac was ahead with the {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds} against Ulrika Stonnemark's {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} and Nik Persaud's {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}, but didn't feel good about the hand. The flop was {10-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}. But the {Q-Diamonds} fell on the turn and the river was the {10-Diamonds}. Nik Persaud won with a set. Shaniac had both players covered. The pocket Kings ended up busting out, while Nik Persaud tripled up. Shaniac was down to 30K as he muttered, "I told ya so..."

Yes... live poker is rigged.

"I'm Billy Madison!"

On a board of K-8-7-3-2, Josh Arieh was facing a 35K bet from his opponent in a 30K pot. He pondered a call for several minutes before he peeled off seven 5K chips and tossed them into the pot. His opponent did not turn over his hand for thirty seconds and almost tossed them into the muck before he finally tabled A-J. Arieh flipped over for {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for a pair. He sniffed out the bluff and exclaimed, "Now we're playing poker!"

A member of the European media walked over to Arieh and asked, "What's your name?"

"Billy Madison," Arieh said as he continued to stack up his chips.
