Zeleny Nice Hand

Boris Zeleny bet out on a {K-Hearts} {7-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} flop, only for his opponent to raise -- to which Zeleny instantly announced, "All in." His opponent dwelled up long enough for whole hands to come and go on the neighboring tables, before announcing, "I think you've got a good hand." This information didn't help him make his decision, however. "I am short stack," said Zeleny helpfully.

Eventually, though, his opponent called. "You win," said Zeleny, "Do I have to turn over my cards?" His opponent flipped over {K-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} for top pair -- and Zeleny turned over {A-Hearts} {A-Clubs} for the overpair.

Turn: {7-Hearts}
River: {3-Diamonds}

Zeleny's opponent was most disgruntled about the poor etiquette of telling him he'd won when in fact he was behind, while Zeleny was insisting he'd thought his opponent had had two pair or better. Just as well that the table was broken next hand and the bickering couple were separated.

Luske Lackluster

Where did my chips go?
Where did my chips go?
Marcel Luske and Danny Ryan, sharing a table, had around 15,000 apiece just a little while ago, but right now Ryan is sitting with 28,000 in front of him while Luske is down to just 5,000. All the evidence points to the two being connected...

Mattern Becoming More Amused

Clearly much happier now
Clearly much happier now
Arnaud Mattern, although remaining, for want of a better phrase, poker-faced, is storming ahead now on around 30,000 after picking up a nice 20,000 pot. He flopped a set of tens and got nicely paid off by an opponent who just mucked at the end of the hand. The hapless opponent, down to 6,000 and demoralized, was seen off a few hands later by another player at the table.

Majka Update

Peter "Majka" Majoros
Peter "Majka" Majoros
Hungarian reality TV star Peter "Majka" Majoros had a good start during the early levels. However, over the last hour or so, he slipped to under 8,000. He just won a small pot. On a board of {J-Clubs} {8-Clubs} {2-Diamonds} , Majka fired out 3,000 but his opponent quickly folded.

Marcin Horecki Eliminated

I did not see the hand, but Team PokerStars player Marcin Horecki from Poland has been eliminated from the tournament. I spotted him in the middle of an exit interview. Horecki made the final table of the PokerStars.com EPT London a couple of weeks ago and his quest to make consecutive final tables on the EPT is over.
