Meet the Locals, Vol. 2

Richard Toth
Richard Toth
Once again the Hungarian staff at Poker News pointed out a couple of local players that we should be keeping an eye on. There's Denes Kalo, who has almost $2.5 million in career earnings which ranks him as the number one money winner in all of Hungary. He was the runner-up at the PokerStars.com EPT Grand Finale in May. Although Kalo lost heads up to Glen Chorny, he still left Monte Carlo €1,179,000 richer. Kalo also has another second place finish on the EPT when he was the runner up at the EPT Baden (that was eventually won by Julian Thew).

Also playing today is Richard Toth. Among his peers, Toth is considered the best tournament player in Hungary. He's third on the all time Hungarian money list and made a final table at the WSOP in 2006 when he finished in second place in a $1,500 NL event. He cashed three times at the WSOP this summer and has seven cashes overall at the WSOP. Toth also made one final table on the EPT when he finished third ar the Scandinavian Open in 2007.
