Hungary for Success

Sadly for our Hungarian viewers, Obal Frigyes won't be winning his country their first EPT title. He has just been eliminated with {J-Clubs}{Q-Spades} versus the {A-Spades}{8-Spades} of Dane Morten Lassen, all in preflop. The {A-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Clubs}{2-Spades}{3-Hearts} board left him drawing dead by the turn.

Lady Drowns Laszcz

Following Lecrecq to the rail is fellow Frenchman Xavier Laszcz, who departed in rather more gut-wrenching circumstances when his flopped full house with {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds} was out-drawn by Domenico Iannonne's {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}.

All the chips flew in on a {Q-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} flop, with Laszcz looking very comfortable indeed. However, a {6-Diamonds} turn was soon followed by a {Q-Spades} river to deal out the very cruelest of blows and leaving Laszcz to head for the nearest toilet cubicle.

Drescher Doubles Through

A big sigh of relief for Daniel Drescher, who finds his coin butted the right side as he fought for his tournament life. Pushing over the top of Henri Kettunen's UTG raise, Drescher was quickly called and we had a showdown, Drescher looking to avoid one of six cards with {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds} versus {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}.

The {9-Spades}{5-Clubs}{J-Hearts} flop was huge though, and by the {9-Hearts} turn Kettunen was drawing dead, thus making the {5-Diamonds} river academic and not even worth mentioning in this report. In fact, it was so pointless that I think I'll just keep the river to myself and leave you guessing.

Raise And Leave...

An interesting situation happened on table 9. Morten Lassen raised preflop from late position and then actually left the table as the big blind called! He was chatting to a friend a few feet away but was no longer sitting at the table. Thomas Kremser came by after a clarification was asked for by the big blind. Lassen's hand was declared dead just as he was coming back.

"Come on, I was just standing there talking to my friend!"

"I'm sorry, sir. Your hand is dead. You cannot leave the table while in a hand, I'm afraid," replied the tall and immaculately dressed Kremser.

"Ok, ok, I'm sorry, I don't really play much tournament poker," said Lassen.

No Moor Chips

Chris Moorman is out, he raised {9-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} in early position and was called by Stephan Gerin and Alfredo Cioccoloni. They saw a {9-?} {8-?} {6-?} where Ciccoloni check-raised all-in with {A-?} {7-?} after Gerin folded. Moorman quickly called, but the Italian managed to catch a {10-?} on the river to eliminate his opponent.

A Baran Spell

Marcel Baran suffered a big hit just now, he was facing a 20,000 bet on the river from Niko Hanninen but mucked on the river of {8-Clubs} {6-Spades} {4-Hearts} {6-Hearts} {J-Hearts} board when the Finn showed him {6-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} for the pot.
