Heeeere's Johnny

Looking rather more as though he's having a good time is extrovert Norwegian Johnny Lodden. He was last seen calling an opponent's bet of 650 on the flop and then pushing said opponent off the pot with a 1,525 river bet on the {5-Spades} {4-Diamonds} {7-Hearts} {J-Hearts} {2-Hearts} board. Up to around 15,000.

Marcin On

A double up for a short-stacked Marcin Biedziak, who got his chips in on the river of a {6-?} {J-?} {Q-?} {5-?} {K-?} board. His opponent was holding {K-?} {6-?} for two pair, but Biedziak was holding {A-?} {10-?} for a straight to double up to around 6,500.

Vanessa Thobert Doubles Up

Vanessa Thobert's 8,000 remaining chips sailed into the middle on a flop of {J-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} and her opponent quickly called. He tabled {J-Spades} {10-Hearts} for two pair, but was in disastrous shape against Thobert's {7-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds} for the flopped straight and a straight flush redraw. The {4-Hearts} on the turn and the {5-Spades} on the river didn't change things and Thobert doubled her stack to 16,000 while her unfortunate opponent was left on fumes with only 2,900 remaining.

Klys Me Quick

Miroslaw Klys, the last player registered today, has not been making friends at his table. Not sure what the preflop action was, but come the river of the {10-Hearts} {8-Spades} {7-Spades} {8-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} board he happily called a 3,000 bet from his lady opponent, and found his {Q-Spades} {9-Spades} straight beating her pocket kings. She is now short-stacked and visibly disgruntled, while Klys cheerfully rakes in the chips.

Stevie Sweatin'

Stephen "stevie444" Chidwick isn't playing today, but that hasn't stopped him from scoping out the competition. Chidwick has been parked in the middle of the tournament area for the last two hours and appears to be intensely sweating Johnny Lodden's table.

18-year old Chidwick gained notoriety this summer after winning over 100 seats to the WSOP Main Event on PokerStars, despite not being old enough to play.

Even More For Torre

Jean-Mathieu Torre is up to around 20,000 after knocking an opponent with his {Q-?} {J-?}. The opponent was holding pocket nines, but Torre made a Broadway straight and his hapless opponent exited the cramped tournament area in the manner of everyone trying to pick their way around the tables, slowly and carefully.

Big Hand for Thobert

Vanessa Thobert, who had dropped a few chips, is back up to around the 16,000 mark. She flat-called a 2,500 bet from her opponent on the turn of a {J-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} {9-Spades} {K-Hearts} board, and then moved all in without a moment's hesitation on the {J-Hearts} river. After giving it some thought, her opponent declared, "No," and folded, showing the {Q-Clubs}. Thobert showed him pocket kings for the rivered house.
