Sevilla's Aces Cracked by J-10

Luis Sevilla did all he could do, getting his money in with the best hand - pocket aces on a 4-8-10 board. His opponent made the call and tabled everybody's favorite hand, J-10 only to spike a jack on the turn for two pair. The river blanked out and Sevilla calmly exited the tournament area, shaking hands with his opponent before he left.

"Fossilman" Crippled Before the Break

Greg "Fossilman" Raymer
Greg "Fossilman" Raymer
Just before the break, 2003 WSOP Main Event champ Greg Raymer lost all but ~3,500 of his chips in a three-way pot holding a pocket pair of tens.

On a board showing {2-Spades}{9-Spades}{8-Clubs}, action was checked around to an unknown player in the cutoff seat who opened with an 1,100 bet. Next to act, Raymer kicked it up to 3,200 and the action then fell to Simone Rossi in middle position who opted to shove all in for approximately 8,000. The cutoff folded, but Raymer made a quick call and tabled his tens; Rossi showed pocket eights for a set and the lead in the hand.

"Put a seven (on the turn) for entertainment," Raymer said, before the dealer burned and turned the {5-Spades}. "That's entertainment too," said Raymer, who held the {10-Spades} and a spade-flush draw. The last card to fall was the {A-Hearts}, a safe card for Rossi who doubled up with the win.

Sorel Getting Low

Sorel Mizzi
Sorel Mizzi
Sorel Mizzi has not gotten off to the best of starts. He is down to 4,500 and looking a bit glum. It looks like he can't believe the size of his stack as he is constantly recounting it.

Table Talk

Andy Black's Thunderbolt
Andy Black's Thunderbolt
Thierry van den Berg was resolving a random dispute at his table when we overheard him say, "I learned that from Andy Black," who is seated just a couple of tables over, in earshot of the boisterous Dutchman.

"That's your final warning," Black shot back. "Whatever it is you did, that's your final warning."

"Or else what? Are you going to put that thing in me?" van den Berg inquired, pointing to Black's infamous Thunderbolt card protector, pictured here.

Black answered, "A man of your character . . . it would be no help of me to put this in you."

Liz Lieu Takes One Down

Liz Lieu
Liz Lieu
Liz Lieu had lost a few chips early on but got some back when she called a 300 chip bet on a {4-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{5-Hearts} flop along with a few other players. The turn was the {Q-Hearts} and Liz bet out 1,100 first to speak and both her opponents folded. This pot brought her back up to 8,000, still below starting but not in any real danger yet.
