Mads Bluffs Into Chip Lead

Mads Wissing Andersen
Mads Wissing Andersen
A big crowd started to develop around one of the tables. There was 120,000 in chips scattered in the middle of the table and Mads Wissing Andersen had moved all in for another 120,000 against William Thorson. This action was taking place on the river of an {A-Hearts}{7-Spades}{8-Spades}{3-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} board. Thorson had Andersen covered, but not by much. He went deep into the tank and eventually Andersen called for time. Thorson let the time run out and as soon as he did Andersen flipped up {6-Clubs}{7-Clubs} and danced a little jig. Andersen now has 240,000 in chips.

Felipe Ramos Doing Well

Felipe Ramos
Felipe Ramos
One of just five Brazilian players to enter this tournament, Felipe Ramos seems to be involved in his fair share of the action. Ramos seems to be mixing up his game well and doing what he needs to do to give himself a chance. He is currently working with a chip stack of 60,000.

Bubble Burst!

It was a very quick bubble. Just as they announced that they were going hand for hand, there was an all-in announcement. Evert Jan Dondergoor was all in against Eric Koskas on the turn of a {7-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{2-Hearts}{4-Spades} board.

Eric: {8-Clubs}{3-Clubs}
Evert: {K-Spades}{J-Spades}

The river was the {9-Clubs} and Evert Jan Dondergoor is eliminated in 73rd place.

You're All in the Money!

Sandro Soncini Celebrates

After the announcement was made, play paused momentarily while everyone celebrated in their respective ways. From Sandro Soncini's ecstatic phone call, to the statuesque, perhaps bored Todd Brunson, each player reacted somewhat differently.

Theo Jorgensen Eliminated

Theo Jorgensen raised pre-flop and Paul Alterman reraised to 26,000. Theo moved all in when the action got back to him for another 44,100. It did not take long for Alterman to call.

Theo: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}
Paul: {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}

The board was {4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{J-Spades} and Theo Jorgensen is eliminated during the first money level, earning $8872.

Yung Hwang Doubles Through Giorgio Marletta

Giorgio Marletta open raised to 12,000 from the cutoff seat. Yung Hwang then moved all in from the big blind for 15,700 total. Marletta called the raise and the players showed:

Marletta: {4-Spades}{4-Hearts}
Hwang: {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}

The board came clean for Hwang and he doubled up to 34,000.

Nicolò Calia Picks Up a Nice Pot

Mark Flowers

Matt Kay raised to 8,000 from middle position and Paul Alterman called. Action folded around to Mark Flowers on the button, who put in a reraise to 23,000. Nicolò Calia, playing from the small blind, peeked down at his cards and quickly moved all in. Kay and Alterman quickly folded and Flowers shook his head. "You haven't played a hand in hours," he said. "Not since that ace-king." Flowers eventually folded and Calia showed two red queens.

Home Favourite Wins Big Pot

Dario Minieri
Dario Minieri
Three players saw a flop of {2-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{2-Hearts} -- Dario Minieri, Antony Lellouche, and an unknown initial raiser. There was 27,000 in the middle from pre-flop action. Antony bet 10,000 first to speak and the pre-flop raiser made it 30,000. Dario moved all in for another 49,100 more. Antony folded and the other player made the call. Dario's {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds} was up against the {4-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and the turn and river blanked out to give Dario a pot worth nearly 200,000 and a big roar went up from the crowd.
