Nicolas Ragot Doubles Up

Nicolas Ragot
Nicolas Ragot
Nicolas Ragot was re-raised all in when he bet out on a {10-Spades}{A-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop. He made the call with {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades} and was surprised to see his opponent on a stone cold bluff with {J-Hearts}{9-Hearts}. There were no runner runner miracles and Nicolas just had him covered to eliminate a player and double up to 64,000.

Rahm: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}

It came clean for Rahm who doubled to 6,400 but will still need quite a bit of help if he is to make a run for the title.

Picking Up the Pace

Of the 207 players starting Day 2, 116 of them start the day with below the average of 33,420. This has translated into a flurry of early eliminations and the subsequent call of "player down" becoming almost a melodic chant from the tournament area.

Billy Argyros Is Not To Be Pushed Around

Billy "The Croc" Argyros

A player raised to 3,600 pre-flop and Billy "The Croc" Argyros called in position with {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}. The flop came down K-3-5 with two clubs and his opponent moved all in for 11,000. Billy had a think, he was getting around 2:1 and he said: "You gotta gamble sometime," and made the call. His opponent had A-Q off suit and Billy missed his outs to double the player up.

"Why did you not go away? I was trying to scare you," said his newly doubled up opponent. "I didn't fly for 30 hours to get here and fold so you would be better trying to push someone else around," was the reply from the Croc.

Luca Pagano Loses Big Pot

After Tyler Reiman limped UTG, Luca Pagano made it 4,600. Tyler called and they saw a heads up flop of {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{7-Diamonds}. Luca bet 7,000 after it was checked to him and Tyler called. The turn was the {2-Clubs} and Tyler check-raised all in over Luca's 16,000 bet. It was only 15,200 more to call but Luca went deep into the tank. Eventually a clock was called and as it neared the end of the countdown Luca tossed his cards high into the air in an extravagant muck. Luca is down to 19,000 after the hand.

Rahm: {Q-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}
Opponent: {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}

Rahm failed to improve and was eliminated with 20 minutes remaining in Level 11.
