Andreas Glannbro Doubles Through Eero Kekäläinen

Eero Kekäläinen raised to 5,500 from late position. When the action got to Andreas Glannbro, he re-raised all in for 33,800. After getting an accurate count and pondering for a bit, Kekäläinen made the call. The players showed:

Kekäläinen: {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Glannbro: {K-Spades}{Q-Spades}

The flop was somewhat suspenseful coming down {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{7-Clubs}. Kekäläinen picked up even more outs when the {J-Diamonds} hit the turn. The {4-Clubs} on the river was harmless for Glannbro however and he doubled up to just over 70,000.

Roland de Wolfe Eliminated

Roland de Wolfe
Roland de Wolfe
Roland de Wolfe managed to get all in on a {7-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop with {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} against the {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} of his opponent. When the {5-Spades} fell on the turn his opponent asked how much Roland had so he could start counting it out but there was no need as the {J-Hearts} popped up on the river to give de Wolfe a bad beat that puts him out of the tournament.

Todd Brunson Doubles Up Twice

Todd Brunson
Todd Brunson
After folding hand after hand for most of the day and hovering around the 20,000-30,000 mark, Todd Brunson finally found the spot he was looking for. Brunson doubled up twice in the span of three or four hands, both times with A-K. The first time, Brunson got all his chips in the middle with top pair against his opponents middle pair and backdoor straight draw. The second time, Brunson again flopped top pair with big slick and got it all in against the nut flush draw of his opponent. Needless to say, both hands missed and the once struggling Brunson is now commanding a stack of just over 140,000.

Graham Clarkson Eliminated

Graham Clarkson - Eliminated
Graham Clarkson - Eliminated
Graham Clarkson was just sent home when his {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} got outrun by the {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades} of Raymond Rahme. The {Q-Hearts} was right in the door and Clarkson shook his head in disbelief. This was deja vu for Graham who was eliminated from the Irish open just a few weeks ago in a similar fashion. Rahme is now sitting on a chip stack of 94,000.

Koskas Puts Pressure On

Eric Koskas
Eric Koskas
Eric Koskas made it 5,100 from early position in the first hand at his new table. Andrea Cortona made the call from the big blind. The flop was {A-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} and Andrea fired out a bet of 6,000 which Eric called. The turn was the {6-Clubs} and Eric called a 7,000 bet from Cortona. The river was the {7-Hearts} and this time Cortona checked. Eric moved all in with a wave of his hands. He had Andrea well covered but in the end he was not called. Back over 200,000 for Koskas.
