Rahman Picking On the Ladies

Sandra Naujoks raised to 250 and Samer Rahman called from the hijack seat. Fatima Moreira de Melo called from the big blind as well.

The flop came down {K-Hearts} {8-Spades} {3-Diamonds} and action checked to Rahman. He fired 700 and both the women folded.

It's important to note that Rahman has been playing almost every pot possible with either Naujoks or Moreira de Melo.

Mizrachi Picks Up a Pot

The board read {Q-Spades} {Q-Clubs} {5-Diamonds} {6-Clubs} and Robert MIzrachi was facing a bet of 1,200 from an opponent after he checked. Mizrachi put in a check-raise to 2,600 and the player called.

After the river fell the {2-Hearts}, Mizrachi bet out 4,100. His opponent folded, giving Mizrachi the pot and moving him up to around 36,000 chips.

Minieri In Trouble

Like a hobbit who has lost his ring, Dario Minieri is looking dreadfully unhappy.

Just now he was faced with a Q-J high board -- and when a second queen came on the river, he folded pocket kings face up. To his endless woe, his opponent showed him {A-?} {J-?}.

Not long after, he became involved in a hand with Ruben Visser. We caught up with the action on the river of the {10-Spades} {3-Clubs} {5-Clubs} {Q-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} board, when Minieri, possibly still steaming from laying down his kings, bet out 5,100. Visser smoothly moved his remaining 17,725 stack across the line -- and Minieri folded.

He's down to 13,200.

Visser, by the by, is up to 32,500.

Rand-All-Out

Vanessa Rousso limped for 150 and Uffe Holm raised to 600 behind him. Mark 'Randall' Flowers reraised to 1,775 from late position, Rousso called but then Holm made it 4,300.

Flowers now made it 7,775, Rousso folded and Holm just pushed the rest of his yellow (5k) and red (1k) chips into the middle. Flowers moved in too and it was inevitable what they had...

Uffe Holm: {A-Hearts} {A-Diamonds}
Mark Flowers: {K-Spades} {K-Clubs}

The board was {6-Hearts} {5-Hearts} {7-Clubs} {9-Diamonds} {Q-Spades}, Flowers was covered by Holm and was eliminated.

Levi At Sickest Table Ever

French London-based pro and trilby hat enthusiast Nicolas Levi claims he is seated at "the sickest table ever" with Davidi Kitai and Juan Manuel Pastor. We pointed out the Veldhuis/Negreanu/Eastgate table. "Second sickest table ever."

Currently he is taking it easy as far as actually playing goes -- he's on a respectable but not dazzling 31,000. Instead, he is amusing himself trying to take photos of his fellow countryman ElkY from such an angle that it looks as though he is wearing Boris Becker's hair. Please apply direct to Mr. Levi for those images.

Mortensen Drops a Small Pot

On the flop of {10-Hearts} {9-Hearts} {9-Diamonds}, Carlos Mortensen fired out 300 with two players to act behind him. The first player folded, but the second one called.

The turn brought the {7-Diamonds} and Mortensen checked. His opponent fired 600. Carlos made the call.

The river was the {Q-Diamonds} and both players quickly checked.

Mortensen mucked his hand without showing after his opponent tabled {10-Clubs} {6-Clubs} for two pair, tens and nines.

Veldhuis Still Rollin'

The cutoff seat raised to 450 and Lex Veldhuis called from the button. The flop came down {J-Spades} {J-Clubs} {6-Diamonds}. The preflop raiser continued into Lex with a bet of 750. Veldhuis made the call.

The turn brought the {3-Diamonds} and Veldhuis called a bet of 1,900 from his opponent.

After the river came the {7-Clubs}, both players checked. The first player showed {A-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds}, but Veldhuis held a slightly better hand with {8-Hearts} {8-Clubs} and scooped the pot.

One player at the table commented on Lex's hot run to kick off his tournament by saying, "Can I move tables please?!?!" Lex has over 100,000 chips.

She Claimed to be Ahead

The board read {10-Hearts} {9-Clubs} {7-Hearts} {K-Hearts} when Vanessa Rousso fired 2,000 into a pot that was slightly under 5,000 chips. The player on the button called.

The river brought the {K-Spades} and Rousso checked. The button checked as well and then turned up {K-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} to win the hand.

"I knew I had the best hand on the flop." commented Rousso. "Why'd you call me?" she complained.

Thorson Caught Out

A flop of {K-Spades} {5-Spades} {8-Hearts} is checked by William Thorson and Laurence Houghton to a third player who bets 1,025. Thorson raises to 2,400 and Houghton folded. The original bettor called, and then called a bet of 4,200 on the {4-Diamonds} turn.

The river was the {5-Diamonds} and both players checked, Thorson showed the {4-Hearts} and then mucked when he saw the {K-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} belonging to his opponent.

Dario Fights Back

Minieri - been happier
Minieri - been happier
A small recovery for Dario Minieri after betting 6,500 on the river of a {3-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds} {9-Spades} {K-Diamonds} {4-Clubs} board, leaving himself just 3,200 behind. After a long dwell, his opponent Cristiano Blanco passed.

The next hand, Minieri got involved with Dag Martin Mikkelsen, betting out on both the {A-Spades} {8-Diamonds} {6-Spades} flop and {Q-Spades} turn. Mikkelsen called on the flop, but gave it up on the turn.

Minieri creeps back up to 15,000.
