Choppy Start for Lapossie

Matt Lapossie has had an interesting, if ultimately uneventful start to the day.

First, he found himself dominating the all-in Michael Greco, holding {A-Spades} {3-Diamonds} to Greco's {A-Clubs} {2-Clubs}. A series of overcards on the board, though, and they chopped it up.

Then a few hands later Lapossie raised preflop and fellow monster stack Marc Goodwin called to see a {4-Hearts} {3-Spades} {3-Clubs} flop. Lapossie bet out, and Goodwin raised another 200,000. Lapossie three-bet, Goodwin four-bet all in and Lapossie called in an instant. Wow. That's a 3,000,000 chip pot.

Goodwin: {10-Hearts} {3-Hearts}
Lapossie: {Q-Hearts} {3-Diamonds}

"Oh deary me," sighed Goodwin.

But wait...

Turn: {A-Diamonds}

River: {A-Clubs}

Goodwin high-fived fellow countryman Michael Greco, and declared, "Oof, getting there my son. Now I wish I was bluffing with an ace."

"So you're raising me with queen-three?" enquired a jovial Goodwin.

"So you're calling me with ten-three?" replied Lapossie. Touché.

Going In for the Kyllonen

Over on the feature table, Jens Kyllonen raised to 28,000 and got looked up by Patrick Bueno in the small blind.

They saw a {7-Diamonds} {8-Spades} {8-Hearts} flop and Bueno checked. Kyllonen continuation-bet 40,000 and Bueno looked like he was seriously considering it -- but eventually passed, putting Kyllonen up to 360,000 or so and dropping Bueno down below the 1.5 million mark.

Greco Doubles Up

Santiago Terrazas Ambite raised to 39,000 from middle position and Michael Greco reraised all-in from the big blind for not too much more. Ambite instantly called with {A-Diamonds} {K-Spades} and Greco showed {A-Clubs} {A-Hearts}.

"Nothing funky dealer!" said Greco.

The board was {2-Spades} {8-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds} and Greco looked very worried but the river was the {8-Spades} and Greco is up to about 250,000

David Robinson Eliminated in 22nd Place (€26,000)

David Robinson - 22nd Place
David Robinson - 22nd Place
Roland de Wolfe opened with a raise to 31,000 and action folded to David Robinson in the big blind. Robinson moved all in for 304,000 total. De Wolfe made the call and tabled {10-Hearts} {10-Diamonds}. Robinson turned over {A-Hearts} {Q-Spades} as he stood up and yelled that he was all in to his frineds on the rail.

The dealer dealt the flop and right in the door was an ace -- {A-Spades} {K-Diamonds} {5-Hearts}. Robinson clapped his hands together as he took the lead.

Just as the flop gave Robinson the lead, all of his hopes seemed dashed when the {10-Clubs} hit the turn. The river was the {6-Hearts} and that was it, Robinson was eliminated in 22nd place. De Wolfe moved up to 700,000.

Gay Waiter Saves Kyllonen

Jens Kyllonen raised preflop and ElkY reraised before the Finn pushed all-in. ElkY looked incredibly reluctant to put the rest of his chips in, but eventually did and Kyllonen went quite pale. He flipped {Q-Clubs} {3-Clubs} and Elky showed {4-Hearts} {4-Clubs}

The board came {A-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} {8-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} {K-Clubs} and a very lucky Kyllonen escapes while Elky is left with just 100,000.

Jose Alberto Carreres Busts to Lapossie (21st Place, €26,000)

No way, Jose.
No way, Jose.
Short-stacked Jose Alberto Carreres open-shoved for the fourth or fifth time, and this time Matt Lapossie called. Over to Michael Greco, who dwelled up for a long time but eventually folded. Everyone else got out of the way, and they were on their backs.

Carreres: {A-Hearts} {10-Hearts}
Lapossie: {6-Clubs} {6-Diamonds}

Board: a straightalicious {5-Clubs} {4-Hearts} {3-Clubs} {7-Diamonds} {7-Hearts} to send the Spaniard to the rail.
