Flushes All Round

Cimpan didn't get Carter
Cimpan didn't get Carter
Carter Phillips has picked up a nice pot courtesy of fellow American Cornel Cimpan.

Blind on blind, Phillips in the small blind was the aggressor all the way down the {J-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} {10-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} board, ending with an 80,000 bet on the river. Cimpan called, but when Phillips turned over {7-Hearts} {9-Hearts} for the flush, Cimpan mucked what he claimed was a smaller flush.

Big Stack Vs. Big Stack

While the table next to them was breaking, an interesting exchange took place between giganto-stacks Matt Lapossie and Georgios Kapalas.

It looks as though Lapossie opened and Kapalas reraised; either way, 600,000 chips had made their way into the middle before Lapossie announced all in. A fold followed, and the clock was stopped while players were re-seated.

Goodwin Increasing Lead with Kings

On a flop of {10-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} {2-Spades}, Marc Goodwin checked to Matt Lapossie, who fired a bet of 42,000. Goodwin made the call.

The turn brought the {Q-Clubs} and Goodwin checked again. Lapossie fired 74,000 this time. Goodwin again called.

The river was the {10-Hearts} and Goodwin checked again. Lapossie fired 233,000 and Goodwin made the call. Lapossie immediately turned up {9-Clubs} {7-Spades} for complete air. Goodwin tabled two kings -- {K-Clubs} {K-Hearts} -- and won the hand.

Lapossie dropped to 1.375 million while Goodwin increased his lead, moving to 2.6 million.
