Eastgate Awakens

Aaron Gustavson raised to 200,000 from the button, but Peter Eastgate, now apparently a bit more awake and looking very stern, re-popped him for 630,000 total from the big blind. Gustavson decided he didn't want to get any more involved than that, and passed.

Rui-Recovery?

Eastgate limps in the small blind and Rui Milhomens checks his option.

The flop is {9-Clubs} {A-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} Milhomens calls a bet of 125,000. Both players check the {6-Spades} turn.

The river is the {6-Clubs} and Eastgate checks again, Milhomens bets 250,000 and the Dane folds without much thought.

Raymond Wu Eliminated in 7th Place (£87,000)

Feeling Wu-zy
Feeling Wu-zy
Raymond Wu shoved for his last 650,000 from the button, and Aaron Gustavson re-shoved from the small blind.

Actually, it wasn't as bad as it looked for Wu.

Wu: {Q-Clubs} {10-Hearts}
Gustavson: {K-Clubs} {6-Clubs}

Still, board: {K-Hearts} {8-Hearts} {5-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} {2-Diamonds}

Wu is bust in 7th place, and Gustavson picks up yet more chips. Still, Wu has the £87,000 7th-place money to console him, as well as the incredibly beautiful girl at the rail who we understand is his girlfriend. Not so bad, then.

Rui Milhomen Eliminated In 6th Place (£124,000)

Rui Milhomens - 6th
Rui Milhomens - 6th
Rui Milhomen raised to 230,000 and it gets passed to Peter Eastgate in the big blind. Eastgate thinks for so long that everyone assumes he's going to fold. But no! He moves all-in and Rui Milhomen looks gutted, is he going to fold? No he eventually shrugs and calls all-in.

Eastgate: {A-Diamonds} {10-Spades}
Milhomen: {8-Spades} {8-Diamonds}

The board {6-Hearts} {K-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} {4-Spades} {10-Hearts} and Eastgate hits the river to knock out the Portuguese player and almost breaks out into a smile as a result.

Senniger Doubles

Well-red
Well-red
Gudvangen sets Nikolai Senniger all-in from the small blind. Senniger, wearing a shirt that couldn't be more red unless it was left in a library for twenty years, made the call for his tournament life.

Senniger: {A-Clubs} {8-Spades}
Gudvangen: {10-Hearts} {6-Diamonds}

The board comes {9-Spades} {4-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds} {7-Hearts} {4-Spades} and Senniger (and Simba) double up to about 2.5 million.

Who's Got the Most Friends?

OK, we can't judge that objectively, but local boy Dominic Cullen is winning the railer popularity contest by a long way so far. Every time he shoves his short stack in the middle and picks up the blinds, a round of applause and some muted "woo"s reverberate around the final table.

Hakuna Matata For Nikolai

It seems there are no worries for Nikolai Senniger right now...

On a {K-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} {K-Hearts} flop, Nikolai Senninger bets 275,000 but Martin Gudvangen check-raises to 735,000.

After a moment, Senninger flat-calls and they see a {4-Spades} turn. Gudvangen checks again and Senniger checks behind, Gudvangen checks the {5-Clubs} river again and Senninger moves all-in for 1,445,000.

Just as we think Gudvangen is going to muck, he calls! Senninger shows {Q-?} {Q-?}, a flopped full-house which is more than enough for the German to double up to about 5 million.
