Not Lacay Enough

Ludovic Lacay has been knocked out of the tournament after raising preflop with {Q-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} and getting all-in on the turn of a {Q-Clubs} {8-Clubs} {7-Hearts} {5-Clubs} board only to find his opponent had made the flush with {10-Clubs} {6-Clubs} on the turn.

The Frenchman couldn't find another eight or queen on the river and thus hit the rail.

Level: 6

Blinds: 200/400

Ante: 50

Ludo-victor Doesn't Show Hand to Win Pot

We weren't both glued to table ex-Lacay but it is right on the outside of the table forest and therefore one of the easiest to access and see what's going on without "Pardon me, sorry, could you breathe in for a moment"-ing your way across.

So I caught another hand just prior to his exit where Mr. Lacay bluffed off a good chunk of change.

He raised preflop, bet several thousand on the {10-Diamonds} {3-Clubs} {3-Hearts} flop, and got called both times by one of the blinds (I think). In any case, Out Of Position Matey checked the {6-Diamonds} turn and he checked behind.

The {A-Hearts} river saw another check to Lacay, who calmly bet 7,400 after a pause. He was snapcalled, and snapmucked, fingers stinging from being snapped in the till.

However, and this is the same thing I saw once at the WSOPE last week, the winner of the hand waited for Lacay's hand to hit the muck and received the pot without turning his own cards over. No one said a thing about it and play continued.

Assorted Chip Counts - Sida Leader?

I admit to not having checked every table yet, but it does look like Sida Yuen might well be the chip leader at the moment, with 92,000. He's sharing a table with Mark Teltscher (41,000), Johnny Lodden (43,200) and Arnaud Mattern (17,300) but looks at ease. Maybe his first-trip live Vegas experiences this summer have taken the edge off high-buy-in live tournaments for him...

Other counts:

Erik Seidel - 58,600
Marcel Luske - 33,525
John Kabbaj - 19,000
Roland de Wolfe - 61,000
Peter Eastgate - 64,500
Liam Flood - missing, presumed out
Chris Ferguson - 40,600
Mike McDonald - 28,500
Luke Schwartz - 24,000
Chris Moorman - 30,000
Andrew Chen - 48,000

In Moor-tal Danger

Chris Moorman is down in the dumps, "I need to learn everything again, everyone is good..."

At that point he then raised to 1,200 with the small blind calling. Both checked the {Q-Clubs} {6-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} flop before the small blind casually check-called a bet of 2,200 on the {K-Clubs} turn.

The river was the {4-Clubs} and the small blind led out for 4,300. Moorman quickly gave up, but his stack is starting to go south...

Less Not Moorman

Chris Moorman lost a pretty chunky pot (over 35k) and looked pained at the end of the experience. I caught this hand from the turn where Moorman faced a bet of 13,200 from his in-position opponent on a board of {K-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds} {6-Clubs} . The pot was already over 15k, but I can't say whether this bet was a raise of a Moorman turn bet or whether it was all from pre and post flop, unfortunately.

Either way, it took Moorman quite a while to do it, but he made the call.

The river brought the {A-Hearts} and a slow check from Moorman. His opponent asked to get a clearer view of Moorman's stack, and looked at his own larger one before he also checked, throwing down a solitary {K-Spades} . Moorman waited patiently for the accompanying {10-Clubs} to come down. He shook his head slightly, flashing the frankly confusing {10-Hearts}to the table as he conceded the pot.

Bad Run For Goodwin

Marc Goodwin, runner-up in Barcelona has been knocked out after getting all-in preflop with {A-?} {A-?} against {Q-Spades} {Q-?} but the board came {A-Spades} followed by three other spades to four-flush his opponent.

No deep run in this EPT for the British player.

Leaderwatch

Despite our having sat facing the wall rather than the Dutch Pokernews desk, they are kindly keeping us informed as to which Dutch players are raking in the chips - and it looks like two of them are vying for the new chip leader spot:

Frank de Boer - 102,000
Lex Maessen - 98,000

I know that Dutch qualifiers in big European poker tournaments have tended to just sweep to victory and they're half just waiting to see which one will end the day as chip leader, but I saw a lot of other stacks in the 70-90k zone. There'll be some work to do to keep in front of this lot of players. Some other big stacks:

Nick Gibson - 96,000
Vivek Rajkumar - 85,000

The 'Beyne' Of Their Existence

Voua 'Beyne' Geshkenbein is having an excellent end to this pre-dinner level.

First he knocked out Luca Pagano with {K-?} {K-?} against {Q-?} {Q-?} before then doubling with {10-?} {6-?} against John Kabbaj's {A-?} {A-?} on a {6-?} {6-?} {8-?} X board, making a house on the {8-?} river.

The Swiss player left Kabbaj crippled as a result.
