Three Tournaments At Once

There are two other tournaments still going on during the first day of the main event. The 6-max PLO final table has just begun while Jeffrey Lisandro and David Williams are still in the remaining three or four tables of the 8-game tournament.

Coren Caught

With the board reading {8-Spades} {9-Diamonds} {10-Spades} {9-Hearts} {2-Diamonds} Vicky Coren bet 5,000 and her opponent tanked, before calling.

Coren said, "Yeah" in a you-got-me sort of way declaring king-high. Her opponent showed {A-?} {A-?} to rake in the pot.

Accident Turns Into A Wheely Good Trick

Freddy Deeb recounted a hand to us, Pieter De Korver sat next to him, giggling non-stop about it's bizarreness.

With the board reading {7-Clubs} {4-Clubs} {3-Diamonds} Deeb raised a bet of 1,000 to 2,500. Well actually he didn't, he meant too, but instead he actually raised to 15,000 - half the starting stack.

But that didn't matter as his opponent thought it was a small raise too and casually called before realising how much he had put in.

The turn was the {2-Diamonds} and Deeb set his opponent all-in, who put it in the remaining chips with {A-Diamonds} {7-Spades}. Deeb flipped {A-Hearts} {5-Hearts} for the second nuts and the river was the {Q-Hearts} eliminating the player in seat 1.

Welcome to the Pokerstars.com EPT London!

London calling once more as the action moves away from the Empire Casino in Leicester Square and the WSOPE north, to the Hilton hotel at the top of Edgeware Road, the home of EPT London.

It's a new and spacious arena around five minutes walk from the old location of the Victoria Casino, enough room that there is a whole series of tournaments going on over the next few days.

The biggest question though is who will follow in Michael Martin's footsteps and take the 2009 EPT London title? That will be answered in the next few days.

Play will start at 12pm local time, in around half an hour.
