Devilfish managed to move all in preflop and leave his opponent with a decision.
"I've got the best hand," the 'Fish told him, "Otherwise your money'd already be in there. Just try to do something before the blinds go up to 4,000/8,000."
His opponent still dwelled.
"Do you have a pair?" asked Devilfish. Yes, was the answer. "Oh. Then don't call. I'll do an impression while we're waiting," he continued, slanting his sunglasses at a crazy angle across his face, "Come on, who's this?" Everyone just sort of giggled nervously. "It's Van Gogh at the beach."
Eventually Devilfish's opponent folded pocket jacks face up. A relieved Devilfish showed him pocket tens. "I'm glad you folded," he continued, "Now I might win the tournament."
A raise from Josef Samanek saw a push behind him with a call from Ivan Demidov. Samanek moved in too and the Russian sighed, "I guess I'm behind..." but then added "Oh, wow, I'm not..." when he saw Samanek's . Demidov turned over and the short stack flipped .
The board came ("That's not good..." said Demidov) .
The Russian was left with just 7,000 remaining while the short stack was eliminated.
Erik Seidel is in a spot of bother -- he's down to just 34,000. He tried a button raise to 5,100, but Raymond Wu in the small blind reraised and Seidel decided it wasn't worth putting his tournament life on the line.
Scott Fischmann has eliminated another player -- we're not sure how it came to pass, but Fischmann's came good against his all-in opponent's when the board came down a very regal .
