Last Shulman Heads for the Door

A mover but not a shaker
A mover but not a shaker
Barry Shulman suffered a hit when Daniel Drescher moved all in on the {Q-Hearts} {3-Clubs} {2-Hearts} flop and Shulman called him with {6-Clubs} {6-Spades}. Drescher was holding {A-Spades} {A-Diamonds} though, and following a {J-Clubs} turn and {A-Clubs} river, Drescher was up to 65,000 and Shulman was down to 80,000.

A few hands later and he and James Tomlin saw a {7-Diamonds} {2-Clubs} {8-Clubs} flop, and Shulman either shoved to a bet or possibly open-shoved for his whole 80,000. Either way, "How much?" was the ominous response from Tomlin, and indeed after a few moments' pause, he called.

Shulman: {5-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds}
Tomlin: {A-Clubs} {Q-Clubs}

Turn: {Q-Spades}
River: {J-Clubs}

Tomlin went to shake Shulman's hand, but Shulman just walked off without a word.

Strange Things Afoot At Table 20

A crowd gathered around table 20 where a huge pot developed.

Lucas Ascani had raised preflop to 4,000 with Barry Schulman calling before James Tomlin had reraised to 16,000 behind.

Jonas Kronwitter then reraised all-in from the big blind for around 85,000.

Now this is where things got interesting, Ascani was listening to music and didn't hear the push and just called Tomlin's 3-bet. A ruling meant that this 12,000 was in the pot and it was now a case of whether Ascani wanted to call the push or not.

But the Italian folded, as did Barry Schulman and the action went back to Tomlin who surprisingly quickly folded {Q-Spades} {Q-Clubs} face up. Kronwitter almost laughed as he showed a dominated {Q-Hearts} {J-Hearts}, increasing his stack by 50% without even a flop.

No Licht at the End of the Tunnel

Young Bill Gates lookalike Andrew Lichtenberger is down to 60,000 after calling 6,000 from David Rawnsley on the {K-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} {3-Spades} flop and then another 8,000 on the {A-Spades} turn. Both players checked the {Q-Spades} river and Lichtenberger turned over {Q-?} {K-?} for two pair, but Rawnsley's {J-?} {J-?} had stayed ahead all the way and he took the pot, putting him up to 90,000.

Must Be Wice

Alex Wice and Darren Woods had got as far as the river of a {10-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} {K-Spades} {2-Clubs} {3-Clubs} board when we caught up with the action; said action involved Wice moving all in. Woods dwelled up long enough for us to witness a variety of hands come and go on neighbouring tables, and eventually made the call -- but Wice turned over {10-Clubs} {10-Hearts} and Woods just mucked. Wice was so overcome with emotion at his double up that he briefly wandered away from the table, but returned swiftly to tidy his new, larger stack.

De Wolfe Chows Down

It looks like Roland de Wolfe has been getting busy munching down other people's chips -- after starting the day with just 10,400 in chips, he's up to a whopping 160,000, earning him the totle of Climber Of The Day.

Lisandro Brings The Run Good!

Jeff Lisandro has knocked out Eric Liu after the battle to isolate short stack Nils Petersson culminated in a huge pot.

Liu: {Q-?} {Q-?}
Lisandro: {A-Spades} {K-Clubs}
Petersson: {A-?} {K-?}

The board coming an exciting {6-Diamonds} {Q-?} {10-?} {J-?} X to make Petersson and Lisandro the nuts and knock Liu, who finalled here last year, out of the tournament.

Lisandro is up to a whopping 350,000.
