All In for a Song

With the board reading {A-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds} {3-Clubs} {6-Clubs} {K-Clubs}, Lorenz Roder bet out 25,000, leaving himself 67,000 behind. Over to Song Lee, who looked as though he was praying, but was actually dwelling instead. He announced all in. Instafold. Lee flashed {10-?} {J-?} for the straight.

No Mormina Waiting

Piero Mormina open-shoved for his last 28,500, and Benny Spindler in the big blind decided to give him a bubble-time spin.

Mormina: {3-Hearts} {3-Spades}
Spindler: {J-Spades} {8-Clubs}

Board: {7-Spades} {10-Clubs} {10-Hearts} {A-Diamonds} {9-Clubs}

Thus Spindler made a straight, Mormina left with nothing, and we are now officially in the money. Let the carnage begin!

No Longer Having Olaaf

Olaaf De Zeuuw looks to be the first player knocked out since the bubble, getting it in with {J-Diamonds} {J-Spades} but Tommy Vedes was holding {A-Spades} {A-Diamonds}.

The board came {9-Spades}{2-Spades}{6-Spades}{5-Spades}{J-Hearts} means De Zeuuw picks up £7,500 for his troubles.

Obrestad Likes Her Chips Suni Side Up

Get yourself an Annette 750 - The ultimate in chipstack destruction.
Get yourself an Annette 750 - The ultimate in chipstack destruction.
Edmund O'Brien brought to our attention the hand that has made Annette Obrestad the new chip leader in the tournament. Harri Suni raised on the button, O'Brien folded the small blind and Annette reraised in the big blind. Suni moved all-in for what looked to be about 300,000 and Obrestad called with {A-Clubs} {K-Diamonds} way ahead of the Finn's {A-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds}.

The board came {7-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} {K-Clubs} with Obrestad managing to fade the diamond draw to knock out her opponent and gain the chip lead. She looks to have about 750,000 now.

Lusso-Aggressive

Alessandro Lusso shoved for his last 18,500 and it folded right around to Will Molson in the big blind, who made a reluctant call.

Lusso: {4-Clubs} {4-Diamonds}
Molson: {J-Diamonds} {2-Spades}

Board: {5-?} {K-?} {Q-?} {3-?} {5-?}

"I folded ace-four," said a cheerful Edmund O'Brien as Lusso raked in the pot. "Ace-five I snap-call. Ah ha ha ha ha."

Bevand Bust

Manuel Bevand is busto -- we arrived just as the cards were being swept into the muck, but it looked a little as though he'd had pocket kings cracked by Benny Spindler's {6-Hearts} {8-Hearts}.

Ahh-No! Mattern Is Out.

Arnaud Mattern has been eliminated, he was all-in with {8-Hearts} {8-Clubs} on a {10-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} {8-Spades} board against the {A-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds} of David Rawnsley, the turn was the {7-Hearts} but the river was the {4-Diamonds} to complete Rawnsley's flush and bust the Frenchman.

Downtown Tran

A massive pot had developed by the time we witnessed Aaraon Gustavson move all in on a {3-Spades} {5-Clubs} {K-Diamonds} flop. JC Tran spent a long time considering his options, but eventually decided that folding was the way forward.

Tran - 250,000
Gustavson - 475,000
