Small Ball for All

Not much in the way of big pots here at the moment, or indeed flops.

The only flop we've seen at the non-TV table since we came back from break was one that came down {9-Diamonds} {6-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} following a button raise from Tobias Reinkemeier and a call from big blind Raymond Wu. Wu checked it, Reinkemeier bet 150,000, and Wu passed.

Wu's Your Daddy

Wu who? Wu hu!
Wu who? Wu hu!
Indeed, Raymond has been relatively active at the non-feature table. The next hand he got his chips back when Rui Milhomens raised his button to 95,000 and Wu made it 235,000 to go. After some silent and not terribly gripping tankage, Milhomens passed.

Karim Not Really Rising to the Top

Perma-short-stack Karim Bennani shoved under the gun, finally, for his last 250,000 or so. Clearly disturbed by this sudden decisiveness in a player who up until this point had seemed perfectly happy to blind away almost to nothing, everyone folded and he picked up the blinds and antes, thus upping his stack by almost half again.

Donev Ain't Done Yet

Up on the feature table, Ivo Donev has rallied.

He opened for 90,000 and Michael Berry made the call to see a {7-Hearts} {10-Clubs} {10-Spades} flop, which bith players checked. They saw a {Q-Clubs} {Q-Clubs} turn and Berry checked again. Donev now bet 110,000, and Berry made the call.

They saw a third {10-Hearts} on the river and once more Berry checked. This time Donev bet what we can only describe as a bunch of chips, and after a swift fold from Berry, Donev took the pot.

Michael Berry Eliminated in 15th Place (£19,000)

A monster of a hand was in progress when we looked up from posting the last exit to see former chip leader Michael Berry all in, his pocket {3-Spades} {3-Diamonds} in considerable trouble against Aaron Gustavson's pocket {J-Diamonds} {J-Spades}.

Board: a three-less {7-?} {2-?} {K-?} {4-?} {7-?}

Thus ends the very excellent run of Mr. Berry. Not bad for winning a freeroll run by the Daily Mirror.

After knocking out Caprioli, and then winning this 2.986 million pot to eliminate Mr. Berry, Gustavson is our new chip leader.

Luck Of The Irish

Marty Smyth has doubled up against Raymond Wu.

Wu raised to 100,000 preflop and Smyth called in the big blind.

The flop was {J-Spades} {5-Spades} {9-Diamonds} and Smyth check-raised all-in against a 95,000 bet. Wu made the call.

Smyth: {K-Spades} {10-Spades}
Wu: {A-Spades} {2-Spades}

The turn {7-Clubs} gave Smyth three more outs and the river was the {10-Hearts} and Smyth doubled through to 1,600,000. Wu is left with 1,000,000.

Karim Doubles

Karim Bennani Smires pushed all-in over the top of Nikolai Senninger, who ummed and ahhhed but then called with {A-Diamonds} {J-Spades}, behind though to Smires' {A-Clubs} {Q-Clubs}.

The flop helped neither coming {2-Clubs} {K-Hearts} {6-Spades} and Smires walked away from the table not wanting to look, and he really was upset to see from afar the {J-Diamonds} on the turn. The pain was short-lived though, the {10-Hearts} on the river made him the nuts and he survived to double through.
