There was a raise from the gent on the button, and small blind Liv Boeree sat very still with her hand poised over her chips for a moment before pushing all in for around 10,000. Mirth, though, as both players turned over offsuit, and a flush-free board later they chopped it up.
Michael Binger is up to about the average stack -- a bit more than 43,000 -- after making what was not an easy river call. On a board of , Binger checked to his opponent, who bet 8,600. Binger called with , which was a winner against his opponent's .
Johannes Strassmann is up to 100,000 after picking up a big pot courtesy of his neighbor. Strassmann bet the flop and river (he check-called the turn) of the board, and his opponent mucked when Strassmann turned over .
Scouring the room for big stacks, we've turned up two. Young Ami Barer is sitting behind 122,000 (his railbird friend was very helpful in specifying how many chips Barer had at the break, how many pots he had won since, and what his online screen name is -- details we promptly forgot). Down at Table 2, a player we can only assume is French, Jean Luc Bengoigui, has amassed 134,000.
We feared the worst for young Stuart Rutter and his amusing pink hat (photos hopefully to appear soon), but it turned out that he'd just moved tables. At one point up to 50,000, he's now back down to his 30,000 starting stack after finding his aces no good against an opponent's on a X flop.
Just before the break, Ilari Sahamies got his last in on a flop. Will Fry thought about it for some time, but eventually passed, leaving Sahamies to rake in the 20,000 total pot.
