Play Resumeth

We're back with Level 5. The tentative plan is to play four more levels before calling it a night. That means we're halfway through the day if you're scoring at home.

It's also worth mentioning that our internet seems to be holding strong for the time being. Knock on wood.

Running 'Hotskyi

In a blind-on-blind confrontation turned serious, Oleh Okhotskyi in the small blind and his opponent in the big made it to the river of the {4-Clubs} {A-Clubs} {10-Hearts} {5-Diamonds} {2-Hearts} board, at which point Okhotskyi bet out 4,100. Mr. Big Blind huffed, and disappeared into the tank, stacking and re-stacking his chips.

"You show?" he asked eventually - the universal indicator of a player who is going to fold. Indeed, he passed shortly thereafter, and Okhotskyi duly showed him {2-Spades} {5-Spades} for two pair.

A Straight and a Flush

We caught up with a big pot brewing on Table 1. As we walked up, there was a board showing {J-Hearts} {10-Spades} {9-Hearts} {8-Diamonds} on the table and about 30,000 chips piled in the middle of the table. Maolo Piaggentino had moved all in for 12,500, and the decision was on a player calling himself Salamzy. After a minute or two of debate, he made the call with the covering stack.

Piaggentino was in the lead, tabling {A-Clubs} {Q-Clubs} for the straight. He would soon find out that he was just barely in the lead though; Salamzy tabled {8-Hearts} {10-Hearts} for two pair and the open-ended straight and flush draws. And the ol' thirteen-outer would come through for him in a big way. The magical {7-Hearts} struck the river, filling in Salamzy's straight flush and setting off flash bulbs all around the table.

Piaggentino has been flushed straight out of here.

Tangled Intertubes

We'd like to apologize once again for our shady internet situation here. The staff is toiling away on it, but things haven't improved thus far. We'll keep posting as often as we can if you'll continue to bear with us.

Luske Loses One

Three players made it to the {Q-Spades} {J-Diamonds} {2-Spades} flop, and it checked around to the gentleman on the button who bet 1,450. Marcel Luske called form the big blind position, Arnaud Mattern folded, and they proceeded heads up.

Both players checked the {9-Spades} turn and Luske checked the {10-Hearts} river too. Mr. Button bet 3,025, and some promising early action evaporated into nothing as Luske passed.
