Schaap Slips Up

Alexander Dovzhenko opened the pot with a raise to 27,000, and Ad Schaap came along with the call, offering up a token, "Wow, maybe I'm on tilt."

Heads up, the flop came {6-Clubs}

, and Dovzhenko continued out with a bet of 35,000. Schaap had that raising look in his eyes, but he elected to flat-call and see another card. The turn was the {Q-Spades}

to pair the board, and both players check-checked this time.

The last card off the deck was the {8-Spades}

, and Dovzhenko figured it was time for another bet. He stacked out 50,000 this time and slid them across the line in a tidy tower of yellow chips. Schaap let out a heavy sigh as he eyed up his opponent. After a long pause, he added 65,000 chips to the bet and made a raise to 115,000. Dovzhenko thought it over long and hard before making the call, and Schaap could only show down {A-Diamonds}

. Dovzhenko proudly tabled {A-Spades}

, his two pair good enough to earn him a nice pot.

That slip drops Ad Schaap down to about 290,000 heading toward the third break.

Waldemar Kopyl Eliminated in 17th Place (€9,600)

We caught up to this one on the turn, with the board showing {Q-Diamonds}

and already approximately a quarter million chips in the middle. Waldemar Kopyl checked, and Vadim Markushevski bet 100,000. Kopyl then announced he was all in, and Markushevski instantly called.

Markushevski turned over {J-Clubs}

for the nut straight. Then Kopyl revealed he'd picked a bad spot to bluff, turning over {5-Clubs}

. No card could save Kopyl, making the {7-Spades}

on the river just a bit of trivia.

Kopyl is out, and Markushevski catapults to 1.65 million -- our likely leader at the moment.

Volodymyr Zakharov Eliminated in 16th Place (€12,000)

First in from the button, Andrew Malott made it 27,000 to play. Next door, small blind Volodymyr Zakharov announced a re-raise to 131,000, leaving right around 50,000 chips in his stack. When the big blind folded, Malott announced, "I go all in," and Zakharov would commit the rest of his stack, his tournament life now in immediate danger.

Lucasz Plichta got things started with a raise to 30,000, and Alexey Maslov made the call a couple seats over. When the action came to Jonas Kronwitter, he moved all in for a bit less than 200,000. Plichta hemmed and hawed and folded, but Maslov instantly called with the covering stack, Kronwitter now at risk of elimination.
