Joh Mamma

Carsten Joh found himself in a race for his tournament life when he risked his last 396,000 with {Q-Hearts} {J-Hearts}. Stefan Huber was looking to knock him out with {9-Diamonds} {9-Spades}.

Flop: {10-Clubs} {7-Hearts} {3-Hearts} - Joh picked up a flush draw and runner-runner straight draw to go with his two over cards and took the statistical lead in the hand.

Turn: {7-Spades} - A total brick for Joh, and he loses the {9-Hearts} as an out.

River: {Q-Clubs} - With his many draws on the flop, it was the simple overpair that would save Joh, but we're sure he didn't really care how he got there as long as he doubled up. Joh's on 828,000 now. Huber is down to 1.45 million.

Cainelli Not Well-y

Luca Cainelli is in some serious trouble.

It folded around to him in the small blind and he raised to 85,000, but Ilkka Tahkokallio in the big blind reraised enough to put him in. Cainelli thought about it for some minutes but eventually folded, leaving himself with just 380,000.

Please Stand By

There has been an unscheduled break in the action. We have no information at the moment but we'll keep you updated on what's happening as soon as we know.

Official Statement

PokerStars have issued a press release concerning the current hiatus in action:

"An armed robbery by 5-6 men took place today at EPT Berlin. Nobody was seriously injured. We hope to restart all events at 4pm local time. A police investigation is underway. If you have video footage or photographs that could help the police, please contact the EPT organizers as soon as possible."

You can send any info you might have to [email protected] and it'll get forwarded to the right people.

Back at 5pm

It has just been announced that the main event will restart at 5pm.

We haven't heard anything about the side events yet.

Business as Usual

All the side events have now restarted. Any players in the ladies' event and the €1k NLH who do not want to continue have been offered their buy-ins back if they wish to unregister.

The main event will be starting up again in 15 minutes or so.

...Or Not

TD Thomas Kremser just now announced that the ladies' event and the €1,000 NLH have been cancelled. It appears that all the short stacks unregistered and it was deemed unfair to continue. There's no word on what happens for the people already busted.

Still on Standby

The main event was scheduled to restart now, but three main event players were spotted at the bar just now ordering a round and one of the tables is still a mess. We'll let you know what's going on when we do.
