Goodbye, Day 2

Huber is the uber-stack
Huber is the uber-stack
Even by EPT standards, today has been pretty brutal.

In seven 75-minute levels we have lost 360 of the 484 players who started Day 2 - almost three quarters of the field - and got ourselves well into the money which started at 144th place.

Countless notable folks have fallen by the wayside today - Thierry van den Berg, Jeff Sarwer, Noah Boeken, Florian Langmann, Barny Boatman, Antoine Saout and Vicky Coren were all among the hapless hordes who failed to make the money.

Once the bubble had burst, those big names just kept on busting. George Danzer, Max Pescatori and Tobias Reinkemeier all earned themselves a min-cash but won't be coming back tomorrow.

Nevertheless it's looking to be a pretty star-studded Day 3. Still in the running on big chip stacks are Team PokerStars Pros Jude Ainsworth and Johannes Strassmann on 720,500 and 794,500 respectively. Also still in, albeit on slightly more modest stacks, are William Thorson, Julian Thew, Marcel Luske and Joao Barbosa.

Leading the field, though, is young Swiss national Stefan Huber. After a late surge, he finished up on 1,087,500 - the only player yet to have broken the million chip mark.

Whatever happens tomorrow, it promises to be very, very exciting. 124 players remain and there is literally everything to play for. Official chip counts will magically appear overnight, and we will back here at noon CET to bring you all the crazy action direct from the cardroom floor.
