Team PokerStars Pro Theo Jorgensen has taken a hit - not massive in real terms, but in relation to his stack it was a bit of a knock.
We caught up with the action on the turn, perhaps 7 or 8,000 in the pot. Both players checked. The river was the and this time Jorgensen's opponent bet out 3,000. Jorgensen made the call, but he couldn't beat the other player's and mucked.
While doing a round of chip counts, we happened to notice that Peter Hedlund was in possession of a mere 2,000. Once he'd folded his small blind, he came over, drink in hand, to tell us about the nine big hands he'd had today and how he'd lost with eight of them. Still, he's not too bothered as before he met with these various misfortunes, he swapped 5% with tablemate David Sonelin. Just as Hedlund took a few moments to work out what 5% of first place would pay, Sonelin knocked out another player with versus the all-in chap's . Sonelin was one of the biggest stacks in the room before the hand, and he now seems to be the chip leader on a shade under 170,000.
Chaz Chattha has kept focus and risen back to over 40,000 after his straight-flush knockdown earlier. Most recent pot: 5k or so courtesy of a flop and a bet of 2,550 when sole preflop caller Mercedes Osti checked (playing what looks like a very short stack indeed). She folded her hand and he stacked another modest tower.
Meanwhile Manuel Bevand has had recent good fortune, generating the largest chip total he's had today (over 70k) and is in a position to throw his weight around a little... Max Lykov on the button three-bet Bevand (3,700), his right hand side neighbour, only to retreat when Bevand raised again (7,700). He does have a stack about a third of the Frenchman's, however, and could feel the effects of too many raise-fold combos.
You've heard of the group of players who call themselves The Hit Squad no doubt. Well there is a new unofficial group I have named The Chip Shop Squad.
Roberto Romanello, Toby Lewis, John Eames, James Akenhead and Praz Bansi are still not back from their respective dinner breaks, despite play resuming almost ten minutes ago. My guess is they're camped inside the 24-hour McDonalds, which is a five minute walk from here.

EPT Barcelona winner Kent Lundmark has just won a nice pot that resulted in him showing the nuts voluntarily.
Lundmark opened from the hijack with a raise to 1,000 and only the gentleman in the big blind made the call. Both players checked the flop, and again on the turn. But there was no checking when the rather innocuous looking made an appearance on the river.
First the big blind bet 4,000 chips and around a minute later Lundmark raised it up to 16,500. His opponent had around 36,500 behind and it looked as if he was going to pull the trigger but he pulled his chips back at the last moment.
He will be glad he did as Lundmark turned over for the nut flush. Nice hand sir.
Ladies and gentlemen, we present to you our Climber Of The Day, EPT San Remo finalist Dragan Galic. Down to just 3,000 within the first few levels, he has now recovered to around 50,000, well above average. Impressive stuff.
