Rybin Makes A Move, Gets Through

Alexey Rybin moved all-in preflop for 1,860,000 and it got passed to the other short stack, Giuseppe Diep who thought for a minute before staring at Rybin.

The Russian was content to sit back and gave Diep a wink which elicited a few laughs in the audience. Diep folded as did Boeree and Pettersson in the blinds and Rybin moved back over the two million mark.

Push the Button

Liv Boeree raised to 325,000 from the button and both blinds folded. She took the pot.

Perhaps seeing how well this worked, the next hand Toni Pettersson raised from the button, to a slightly smaller 275,000. Again, the blinds folded and the button-raise took the pot.

The next hand Michael Piper tried it on for an ever-so-slightly-more-than-minimum 250,000 - but this time Alexey Rybin pushed all in from the big blind for 2,090,000. Piper asked for a count, but didn't take too long about folding.

Rybin Doubles Up

Toni Pettersson raised to 275,000 and Alexey Rybin reraised all-in for 2,400,000 from the button. Pettersson looked unimpressed but made the call.

Rybin: {A-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds}
Pettersson: {10-Hearts} {10-Clubs}

Board: {K-Spades} {5-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} {4-Diamonds} {2-Clubs}

Pettersson saw his stack split in half, while Rybin is now up to about 5,000,0000.

Diep Now Shallow

Alexey Rybin raised to 275,000 and Giuseppe Diep made the call despite being fairly short.

The flop came {8-Clubs} {4-Clubs} {7-Clubs} and Rybin bet 600,000. Scarf concealing half his face, Diep thought for a moment but folded leaving himself very short now with just 1,500,000 left.

Piper Getting No Respect

Poor Michael Piper.

Once again, Toni Pettersson raised and took the blinds. The next hand Liv Boeree raised, and she got away with the blinds as well. But when Piper raised it up, Atanas Gueorguiev shoved on him from the big blind for 2,320,000. Piper took off his sunglasses and made a face like he'd just dropped his ice cream on the pavement. He spent a few moments apparently trying to gouge out his own eyes, and then folded.

Russian Through The Hands

Alexey Rybin raised to 275,000 from middle position, Liv Boeree thought but folded after staring at the Russian for a minute. Pettersson called from the big blind but then check-folded to a 500,000 bet on the {8-Hearts} {7-Clubs} {5-Clubs} flop.
