Dmitry Stelmak raised from the button only for Erik Tamm to reraise to 120,000. Iulian Iacob shoved from the big blind and the action moved back on Stelmak who either called or raised; either way Iacob got out of the way and they went to showdown.
Tamm:
Stelmak:
"Nice," said Tamm.
Board: a very exciting but no-cigar
Tamm took his leave, while Stelmak received a congratulatory massage from Alexey Rybin and seized the chip lead - he's up to 3 million.
Jakob Karlsson opened the pot to 53,000 from early position, and Nicholas Sforos moved all in for what looked like 313,000 total. When the action came to big blind Claudio Piceci, he went into the tank for several minutes, clearly considering a tough decision for a good chunk of his chips. After a couple of minutes, he announced a call, and Karlsson quickly mucked his cards to let the other two duke it out. Cards up, gents:
Sforos:
Piceci:
Sforos stood up to sweat his fate, and that was clearly a poor decision. The dealer spread a good-game flop of , leaving him stone dead just like that. The turn and river were both deuces, and Sforos has been sent packing.
We're not sure when the chips went in, but Gijs Verheijen was holding pocket sevens, Paul Pires-Trigo had and the board read . Verheijen doubled to a little over 500,000 while Pires-Trigo was left with a similar amount.
Toni Pettersson made a standard raise from the button and Mario Puccini reraised all-in from the small blind. Pettersson did some good old tanking before calling for most his own stack with but he was behind to Puccini's .
The flop though came bringing a clenched fistpump from the Finn, as Puccini could only stand and watch at the board paired with the turn and then provide a non-helpful river.
