Boeree the Big Bully

Liv Boeree
Liv Boeree
The table folded around to the blinds where Liv Boeree raised to 115,000 to start the action. In the big blind, Toni Pettersson made the flat call, and it was heads up to a flop of {9-Clubs} {K-Spades} {Q-Clubs}. Boeree kept the heat on with a continuation bet of 130,000, and Pettersson called very quickly.

Fourth street came the {4-Spades}, and Boeree slowly tapped the table. Pettersson, acting quickly once again, made a small bet of 145,000. Boeree wanted to play for more though, and she counted out a check-raise to 385,000. Pettersson gave her a good stare, but he eventually released his cards and let Liv take the pot.

Boeree - 4.05 million
Pettersson - 2.28 million

As Per Usual

Hot Swede-on-Swede action as up on the feature table, Per Linde raised to 120,000 and Erik Tamm made it 300,000 behind. Back to Linde, who pushed for 2.2 million. After a while Tamm passed, and Linde took the pot.

Cserei Continues To Pick Up Pots

Per Linde raised preflop to 120,000 and Ramon Demon Cserei was the only caller.

The flop was {10-Clubs} {10-Hearts} {K-Clubs} and Linde continued the aggression with a bet of 175,000. Cserei quickly called and the dealer put out the {4-Hearts} on the turn.

Linde now checked and Cserei bet 300,000 and the Swede looked pretty disinterested in playing any further part in this hand. He folded and the momentum is all with the Romanian.

Bække and Tamm Play Chicken

Erik Tamm
Erik Tamm
Allan Bække raised to 135,000 preflop from UTG before Erik Tamm reraised to 325,000 a couple of seats down the table.

Bække tanked for about a minute before 4-betting to 585,000 and boosting the pot to over a million before the flop had even been dealt. Tamm finally moved all-in and Bække folded almost instantly.

Tamm is back up to 3.1 million while Bække drops to about 2 million.

Piper Plays Sad Song as Pettersson Doubles Up

Toni Pettersson raised to 145,000 from the cutoff and no-one fancied taking him on. He picked up the blinds and antes.

The next hand Pettersson raised in the hijack, this time to the tune of 155,000. Again, everyone folded.

So it was that Pettersson raised for the third hand in a row to 155,000, and this time Michael Piper reraised to 340,000. Everyone else passed, and after a while Pettersson called.

Both players checked the {9-Spades} {3-Diamonds} {J-Spades} flop and Pettersson checked again on the {J-Clubs} turn. Piper bet 285,000. Back to Pettersson, who attempted to raise to 460,000; this was swiftly corrected to a minimum 470,000. Piper three-bet all in, Pettersson called all in, and they were on their backs.

Piper: {K-Hearts} {10-Spades} for nothing more than a gutshot
Pettersson: {4-Spades} {4-Diamonds} for a pair of fours

River: {A-Diamonds}

Wow. Just wow. Pettersson lurches into the lead on 4.6 million. Meanwhile erstwhile chip daddy Piper drops to 3.1 million.

Cserei Sections Some Chips To Carlsson

With the flop reading {3-Hearts} {A-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} Ramon Demon Cserei fired out 225,000 against Jakob Carlsson and Allan Bække.

Carlsson made the call in position but Bække folded. The {4-Spades} came on the turn and Cserei bet 435,000 this time and again Carlsson called.

The pot had swelled to over 1.75 million by this point, but the {5-Clubs} river went check/check and Cserei was forced to show a missed {K-?} {J-?}, losing out to Carlsson's {A-?} {J-?}.

Dinner With Liv Boeree

Just about 15 minutes into the level, the staff has decided a dinner break is in order. We're off for one hour; play will resume at 7:00pm local time.

We're Waiting Too

It's ten past seven and we're still in a holding pattern. The buffet upstairs was a bit late in opening, and some of the production crew was still stuffing their faces with pasta and prosciutto when we made our way back to the tournament room.

We should be back in action shortly. But not quite yet.

Go Go Go!

It's time for some after-dinner poker. The players are in their chairs, some people have dropped by to operate the cameras, and we're going to play some more poker. There is just about an hour left in the current level.
