Veldhuis Doubles

We arrived at Lex Veldhuis' table with the board reading {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{4-Spades}{Q-Hearts}.

Luca Cainelli bet 8,500 and Veldhuis popped it to 20,800. Luca Cainelli three-bet to 58,500 and Veldhuis went all in for 71,200 total and Cainelli made the call with {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}.

Veldhuis tabled a winning {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} and the river was a meaningless {2-Hearts}. Veldhuis moved up to about 155,000, but has dropped to about 135,000 the few hands since.

Hold It!

We've played a full level of poker, and it's time for one of those pesky 15-minute breaks. We'll be back in a flash.

Dato Gifted

Andre Dato has doubled up to 50,000, his {Q-Clubs} {Q-Hearts} holding up against Joni Jouhkimainen's {9-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} on the {2-Hearts} {6-Clubs} {4-Diamonds} {7-Spades} {7-Diamonds} board. Dato is up to 50,000 - while the hapless Jouhkimainen is down to just 2,000.

Daniel Negreanu Eliminated

It was a quick day for Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu.

He moved all in from middle position for roughly 13,000 with {Q-Hearts}{J-Clubs}. Next to act, Jochum Weenink called and the rest of the table got out of the way.

It could not be any worse for Negreanu, as Weenink tabled {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}. The board ran out {A-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{K-Spades} and Negreanu was sent to the slopes just before the first break of the day.

Birthday boy Jim Collopy (21 today!) raised to 2,700 in early position and Eric Friedmann called in the cutoff. Small blind Frank Dieter made it 7,500 to go, Collopy made it All In for 34,600, Friedmann decided against, and Dieter made the call.

Dieter: {A-Hearts} {K-Clubs}
Collopy: {Q-Spades} {Q-Diamonds}

Board: {4-Spades} {8-Hearts} {7-Hearts} {10-Spades} {10-Hearts}

Birthday boy is back up to 75,000, around what he started the day with.
