Tournament Tidbits
Daniel Negreanu has not fared well in battling the after-dinner coma. Negreanu is nearly asleep in between hands, often closing his eyes and rubbing his temples. That buffet is not to be trifled with.
Dominik Nitsche's seat is now occupied by an entirely different human being. There's no sign of Nitsche, and we think it's safe to say the LAPT Mar del Plata champion will not be winning his first EPT at this stop.
There are a big group of players huddled around the 90,000-chip mark, including EPT Kyiv champion Maxim Lykov, Yury Kerzhapkin and Team PokerStars Pro Johannes Strassmann. We've yet to spot anyone over 100,000 though.
And, finally, disregard that last sentence. As we were mid-sentence, we found Bernhard Perner stacking up a big pot to move to 143,000. He's the clear leader in the room.
