The French Counterfeiter

Marine Labernardie opened to 1,500 from early position, and Tim van der Riet three-bet to 4,500 a few seats over. Labernardie put in the call, and they went heads up to a flop of {K-Diamonds} {3-Clubs} {5-Spades}. After the lady checked, van der Riet continued out with a bet of 4,200. Ms. Labernardie had 22,100 total chips left, and she went ahead and stuck them in there. Van der Riet quickly called with the covering stack.

Showdown
Labernardie: {A-Spades} {K-Spades}
Van der Riet: {K-Clubs} {3-Hearts}

Van der Riet's slim three-bet had come through on the flop, and his two pair was poised for the knockout. The turn {7-Diamonds} was no help to the at-risk Labernardie, but the river would bring salvation. The {5-Clubs} that landed on the end counterfeited her opponent's kings up, giving both players the same two pair. Labernardie's kicker was the big one though, and she's picked up the double. That moves her up to about 54,000, her and van der Riet essentially swapping stacks in that exchange.
