Strassmann Flying on 747 As We Head Into Day 3

Strassmann - chip daddy
Strassmann - chip daddy
We started out today with 259 runners; we have finished up with somewhere in the region of 85. Leading the pack by a long way is Team PokerStars Pro Johannes Strassmann on a whopping 747,000 - his nearest rivals, Richard Toth and Maxim Lykov, trail behind on 584,500 and 575,000 respectively.

We have seen a veritable massacre of fine poker talent in the Alpine Palace ballroom today - Daniel Negreanu, Nacho Barbero, Luca Pagano and Arnaud Mattern were among those who failed to make the Day 3 grade - but we did not manage to make the money. When the players return tomorrow, we'll be extremely close to the bubble, with only 80 places paying out.

Aside from our big chip leaders, we have a smattering of famous faces still in the field. Alex Kravchenko, [Removed:197], Lex Veldhuis, Jesper Hougaard and Jim "Mr_BigQueso" Collopy all remain in the running, and there is everything to play for.

We'll be back at the tables at 2pm CET, so join us back here from then to see who makes the money, and who has to head home with nothing.
