Blom and The G

Mr. Blom
Mr. Blom
We joined a heads-up pot between Tony G and Viktor Blom just as the dealer was running out a flop of {8-Spades} {9-Diamonds} {J-Spades}. Blom checked, and Tony G made a bet of 6,000 into a pot of about that size. Blom didn't waste much time sticking in a check-raise to 21,400, and Tony G took pause to pay for his freshly delivered coffee.

Turning back around to face the table, he started chatting with Blom. "What you got over there? Jack-ten? What you got, Vik?"

A big smile crossed Blom's face, and he too started to chat. "You're such a donkey! You think I have jack-ten?"

Tony G returned the smirk, and he continued chatting. "Maybe jack-nine?" (Another big grin from Blom) "Will you show me one if I fold?" The two men agreed, The G folded, and Blom let him turn up one of his cards, the {K-Spades}.

"Whoaaaaa," said table mate Phil Laak. "Maybe king-queen. That's so sick if it's king-queen. King-ten of spades makes a lot of sense though."

Whatever it was, it was good enough to take down the pot. Tony G is still quite healthy though, sitting among the chip leaders with about 95,000.
