Walthaus Out-Aggresses the Table

The flop read {8-Spades} {6-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} in a four-way raised pot and it checked around so all four players got to see the {K-Spades} turn as well. One player now bet 3,000 and the action moved to Jorn Walthaus in the small blind who check-raised to 8,900. The bettor called, and they went heads-up to the river.

The river came down the {3-Spades} and Walthaus now bet out a hefty 18,500. His opponent peered at Walthaus' stack as if considering a raise, but in the event he folded and Walthaus bumped his stack up to a comfortable 65,000.

Thew Has Few

The flop read {K-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} {4-Diamonds} and a young gentleman bet out 3,300. Julian Thew made it 10,000, the young gent shoved for around 25,000, and after a few moments Thew quietly announced call.

Thew: {A-Clubs} {K-Spades}
All-In Gent: {5-Diamonds} {5-Spades}

Turn: {8-Clubs}

River: {A-Diamonds}

The young gentleman's cheeks puffed out with relief as he doubled to over 50,000. Thew dropped to 36,000.

Carter Beats the Big Blind

Carter Phillips raised to 1,450 from the button and picked up a call from the gent in the big blind. However, it didn't go much further than that. The big blind checked the {6-Spades} {K-Spades} {K-Hearts} flop and Phillips stuck in another 1,550; the big blind folded and Phillips edged up to 75,000.

Mr Phillips seems to have dropped a few chips since then though - he was at 65,000 when we strolled by his table.

Weisner: said "Oh wow, nice hand," as she flipped her {J-Clubs} {8-Clubs}

Not So Boosted J

Justin "Boosted J" Smith has suffered a couple of minor setbacks. First he lost a large pot folding to a 15,500 bet on the river of a {10-Spades} {6-Diamonds} {A-Clubs} {J-Clubs} {9-Diamonds} board to Alex Keating.

The next hand, Smith 3-bet a middle position open from 1,400 to 2,300 but folded when Johnny Lodden cold 4-bet to 11,675 from the blinds.

Smith has about 26,000 left.
