Bye, Bye, Binger

In early position, Nick Binger moved all in for just about 25,000 total. Action folded all the way around to the big blind where an unknown female player made the call for a significant chunk of her ~80,000-chip stack.

Binger rolled over two aces, and he was in fine shape against the lady's rather paltry jack-nine off-suit. He didn't see it that way though, and he just laughed and started to wander away from the table. From halfway across the room, he heard the groans and moans from his table mates as the jack-nine got there.

Binger's day is done, and we are now officially out of Bingers after Brother Michael's Day 1 elimination.

JJ Loses

Bye-bye JJ
Bye-bye JJ
Lex Veldhuis opened for 5,800 in the hijack but quickly folded once JJ Liu had shoved from the cutoff and the gent in the small blind had either called or reshoved - either way, they soon went heads-up to a showdown.

Liu: {5-Clubs} {5-Spades}
Small Blind Gentleman: {A-Hearts} {Q-Hearts}

Flop: {Q-Clubs} {A-Clubs} {5-Diamonds} with the five on the door

Turn: {8-Diamonds}

River: {Q-Diamonds}

Liu banged the table in old-fashioned anger as she found herself holding the lesser of the two full houses and heading for the rail. Her opponent waited until she'd gone before commencing to giggle.

Golser Makes a Move

The young qualifier in the hijack opened for 5,000 only for Markus Golser to make it 15,500 from the cutoff. Back to Young Qualifier, who pushed for 32,000, and Golser called, to some tittering around the table when he flipped his cards.

Young Qualifier: {8-Clubs} {8-Diamonds}
Golser: a still coinflipping {K-Diamonds} {9-Clubs}

Board: {5-Spades} {A-Clubs} {10-Spades} {2-Spades} {4-Hearts}

With that, our qualifier doubled to just shy of 70,000 while Golser dropped to just 47,000.

Hard to Win with the Master Around

There was a bit of a disruption over at one of the far tables so we wandered over to see why Men Nguyen was practically shouting at the dealer.

“We can't play with six!” Men was half-screaming. His table was indeed six handed, and there were no cards being dealt when we approaching. A few of the others at the table were bantering with the dealer amicably, saying, “I'm not sure we can play six-handed, I think the floor wants us to hold up,” but Men the Master was not taking it so calmly. Apparently the dealer had initially failed to hold up, but she quickly pulled the cards back and washed the deck when the floor told her to wait for a player.

“Why don't you get a job as a floor?” Nguyen snapped at her. “Then you can make the decisions.”

The dealer quietly told Nguyen that she was a floor person in her day-to-day job at home, but being reasonable doesn't always work. “That's different. You have to listen to the floor! You don't make the decisions!”

This continued for several minutes as we walked away, but it looks like things have calmed down a bit now. Maybe the fact that Nguyen is down under 20 big blinds has him in a bit of a sour mood.

Schulman Chipping Up

Nick Schulman (position) and one other player saw a {7-Hearts} {J-Clubs} {K-Clubs} in a raised pot; both of them checked it and they saw a {4-Diamonds} turn, which the gentleman out of position checked as well. Schulman now bet 14,500, and once his opponent had called, they saw a river.

The river was the {5-Diamonds} and the out-of-position gent checked again. This time Schulman bet 22,400 and after a little while his opponent called that too, but mucked when Schulman turned over {K-Clubs} {8-Clubs}.
Schulman is up to a pretty healthy 145,000, with the average stack currently standing at 103,000 or so.

The Munzster's

Simon Munz raised to 4,400 from the button but Jason James decided to bump it up to 11,200 in the big blind.

Munz got a count down of James' 80,000 stack only to decide to throw in a big stack of blues set his opponent all-in.

James folded after a minutes thought and Munz is approaching the 300,000 mark.
