Eyster Fries the Opposition

Eyster - high roller, cheap eater
Eyster - high roller, cheap eater
Rony Halimi moved in for his last, er, 29,000 in early position and Gianni Giaroni re-shoved for, well, 33,000. Blinds are 6,000/12,000, remember. Oops. Kevin Eyster called from the small blind, as did the gent in the big blind, and they saw a flop.

Flop: {5-Diamonds} {9-Spades} {Q-Spades}

Both blinds checked.

Turn: {4-Spades}

Eyster bet out 32,000 and the big blind folded. All three players flipped their cards, and the two shorties discovered that they were drawing dead.

Halimi: {A-Clubs} {5-Spades}
Giaroni: {K-Hearts} {6-Hearts}
Eyster: {A-Spades} {6-Spades} for a flush

River, for the sake of completeness: {2-Diamonds}

Both players headed to colled their money, while Eyster setled back down to his 1.85 million stack. Although as chip leader he's in rather a good position to be taking home an awful lot of money this week, he's still keen on avoiding the Monte Carlo prices. No €30 hamburgers for him - he produced a red McDonalds carton and casually asked the table, "Fries, anyone?"

Oscar Draws a Blanco

A blind-on-blind raising war resulted in small blind Oscar Blanco finding himself all in with {9-?} {9-?} against small blind Nicolas Chouity's {A-?} {J-?}. An ace and a jack fell on the flop, and following a total absence of further nines, Blanco was bust.

Gomes Gives One Up

Claudiu Saizu opened to 30,000 from the highjack, and Alex Gomes wasn't about to let him steal his cutoff. Gomes three-bet to 78,000. Undaunted, Saizu swiftly made it 200,000 total. Gomes, who doesn't do anything swiftly, took his time to decide on a fold. He's just under 500,000 now.

Karmazinas Takes One

The board read {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} when we walked up to the table and it had checked around to Craig McCorkell on the button.

He made a bet of 18,000 and was called by Dominykas Karmazinas in the big blind and Sami Kelopuro.

The three checked the {j-Clubs} turn and when the {3-Diamonds} hit the river Karmazinas threw out a bet of 73,000 and both Kelopuro and McCorkell folded.

Plauski Pulls a Straight

Aleh Plauski checked a {Q-Hearts} {10-Spades} {9-Diamonds} flop, and Bruno Lopes moved all in for about 260,000. Plauski called to find that he'd need to improve on his {K-Spades} {Q-Spades} to eliminate Lopes, who held {A-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds}. And improve he did, as the {J-Hearts} on the turn completed Plauski's straight. Lopes needed to river an ace to stay alive, but the {7-Clubs} was no help to him. Still, he made it impressively far today since he started as one of the shortest stacks this morning.

No Dinner 'Til It's Over

It has just been announced that there will be no dinner break today - we'll just be playing straight through until we're down to 24. If you want fries, talk to Kevin Eyster...
