Schwartz Has Work Cut Out

Luke Schwartz: tenacious
Luke Schwartz: tenacious

Luke Schwartz approaches the first break of the day with a very similar stack to his Day One low point, thanks to a hand against Anestis Pantazidis. The big decision was put to him on the turn, with the board reading {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}. Pantazidis had moved all in (170k) over Schwartz' bet of 31k, and he was thinking hard about it, getting up, sitting down and looking tortured.

At last he shoved his stack in - literally - the towers of chips forming a lake in front of him. He wasn't happy to see the flopped house for Pantazidis who held {5-Hearts}{5-Spades} vs. his {K-Diamonds}{10-Spades}. The river was the {2-Clubs} and there ensued a pause during which two floor staff stacked Schwartz back up. It turned out he had about 25k left.

"I've come back from four big blinds before. I'll do it again," he said (speaking about his return from the brink in this very tournament).
