2 Steps Forward, 1 Step Back for Tureniec

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Two small pots for the aggro Tureniec (they're all pleasingly aggro, to be honest, but Tureniec seems to be out-aggressing the other two at the moment).

First up, Per Linde made it 110,000 from the button but Tureniec three-bet from the big blind and Linde gave it up.

Next hand, Tureniec raised to 135,000 from the small blind and Linde called in the big to see a {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}{k-Clubs} flop. Tureniec bet out, and once again Linde gave it up.

Tureniec couldn't make it a hat trick though. The hand after that, he raised to 105,000 from the button, but John Eames now made it 285,000 fromthe big blind. Tureniec folded, and they played on.

Eames 3-Bets to Push Back the Swedes

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
EPT Copenhagen Final Three
EPT Copenhagen Final Three

Michael Tureniec opened to 105,000 but instantly folded when John Eames made it 285,000 from the big blind.

The very next hand Per Linde raised to 110,000 but he folded just as fast when Eames made it 275,000.

Eames himself picked up the next pot after raising from the button, Per Linde calling in the big blind but check-folding on the turn of a {3-} {7-} {K-} {3-} board to a 130,000 bet from the chip leader.

Michael Tureniec opened to 105,000 from the button to win the blinds and antes.

Eames limped in from the small blind and Michael Tureniec raised to 135,000 and Eames called. The flop came {10-Diamonds} {Q-Spades} {K-Diamonds} which both players checked to see a {J-Diamonds} turn, Eames checked again and Tureniec now bet 150,000 and was called. The river was the 4th diamond, the {5-Diamonds} and Eames checked for the third time, Tureniec now bet 250,000 and finally got his opponent to fold

Always WIth the Big Blind Resistance

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Per Linde raised to 110k, and big blind Michael Tureniec promptly three-bet him (275k). No further interest from Linde.

The rest of the last ten minutes has been filled with single raise preflop wins.

Linde doesn't seem to be enjoying Tureniec being the big blind when he's on the button too much - the next time he raised from this position, the following hand played out:

Tureniec called 60k to see a {K-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{8-Hearts} flop. Check-check.
Turn: {4-Clubs} Check to Linde a second time - in went 125k. Slowly, calmly, Tureniec made the call.

River: {A-Spades}. A third check to the button. Linde fired 275k - call from Tureniec. The cards weren't visible on the table, but the dealer chopped the pot and there was the hint of a raggy ace in both of their hands.

Tureniec Closing in on Eames

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Michael Tureniec
Michael Tureniec

Michael Tureniec raised his button and John Eames called in the big blind before check-folding to Tureniec's 125,000 continuation bet on the {8-Spades}{2-Spades}{5-Hearts} flop.

Next hand John Eames made it 125,000 from the small blind and Tureniec ("He doesn't like to fold," noted EPT Live) called in the big to see a {k-Clubs}{6-Spades}{q-Spades} flop. Eames bet out 140,000 which was swiftly called by Tureniec, then checked the {10-Clubs} turn. Tureniec now bet 275,000 and Eames gave it up. Eames' chip lead margin is narrowing.

Linde Gets a Lucky Double Up

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
EPT Copenhagen Final Table
EPT Copenhagen Final Table

A blind on blind battle between Michael Tureniec and Per Linde saw a flop of {7-Hearts} {5-Hearts} {2-Hearts}, Tureniec check-called a bet of 175,000 against his compatriot. The {10-Clubs} turn didn't seem to change much and Tureniec check a second time with Linde betting a chunky 375,000. Tureniec, as still as a statue, thought for 30 seconds but then folded.

Tureniec then raised to 105,000 from the button and Per Linde flat-called in the small blind. John Eames then 3-bet to 325,000 in the big blind, Tureniec quickly folded but Linde then surprisingly moved all-in. Eames called instantly.

Linde: {A-Clubs} {J-Diamonds}
Eames: {A-Hearts} {K-Hearts}

The flop came {J-Hearts} {5-Diamonds} {5-Spades} and Linde jumped into the lead, but the {6-Hearts} turn gave Eames some additional outs, the river was the {A-Diamonds} and Linde vaulted back into contention with Eames dropping into third place - though the stacks are all pretty close now.

Stacks Equalise

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Two pots have gone to John Eames courtesy of Michael Tureniec, which have repositioned him at the top of the chip counts. The latest one saw him raise on the button (110k) called by small blind Tureniec. Eames bet 150k when it was checked to him and Tureniec called. The turn was the {8-Spades} which saw another Eames barrel - this time 330k which Tureniec refused to call.

Massive Double Up for Tureniec!

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

On the button, Michael Tureniec opened for 105,000. Per Linde passed his small blind, but in the big blind John Eames made it 280,000 to go. Back to Tureniec, who tanked up for some time before making it 600,000. Back to Eames, who also had a little dwell, before five-betting to 1.08 million - as EPT Live said, perhaps the first time in EPT history that a finalist has made a five-bet that wasn't all in. So when Tureniec went all in for 4.145 million, it constituted a six-bet. Eames called, and it was a race for a vast chip lead.

Eames: not kings this time, but {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Tureniec: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

Board: {8-Spades}{7-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

Eames had Tureniec covered, but only just - he's down to little more than 10 big blinds on 525,000. Tureniec is now in possession of around 60% of the chips.

Eames Back in Seven Figures!

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
John Eames
John Eames

Instantly, Eames shoved for half a million over Per Linde's 110k preflop raise. Now so short that he was going to cause no real damage to either of the others, Linde autocalled.

Eames: {A-Clubs}{7-Spades}
Linde: {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

Flop: {10-Spades}{K-Spades}{6-Spades}
Turn: {4-Spades}
River: inconsequential {6-Diamonds}

Eames is up to the million mark once more and now might give the big stacks pause for thought before they take his shove on.
