Last week Tony G gave Marvin Rettenmaier the nickname "Mad" in his blog describing him as having "the Germanic mathematical game but he has heart, he is winning, he gets drunk, he loses his passport – he is also running good. Make the most of it Mad Marvin"
Well Herr Rettenmaier has just lived up to his new found nickname in a pot with Michael Schurpf just moments ago. Schurpf made a bet of 1,400 when the table folded to him in middle position and Rettenmaier, who was next to act, three-bet to 3,625. When the action folded back around to Schurpf he sat motionless, staring intensely at his opponent for over a minute before counting out the necessary chips to make the call.
The flop of saw a check from Schurpf, a bet of 3,650 from the mad one and after another minute of thinking time, a call from Schurpf. The fell on the turn and this time both players checked their option, which is exactly what they did when the made an appearance on the river.
As Rettenmaier was the last person to show any aggression in the hand he was asked to reveal his cards but he refused at first before laughing and turning over for a complete bluff, whilst Schurpf turned over for the win, boosting his stack to 44,000.
Former chip monster Kevin Vandersmissen has fallen on comparatively hard times - he ran a set of sevens into a set of kings for a 75,000 pot and then suffered several, rather smaller misfortunes, to drop him right down to 57,000.

Former EPT winners' Kevin MacPhee and Liv Boeree are down to 12,000 and 7,000 respectively on the Table of Death™, with the blinds going to 300/600, it's now time to get busy...
The flop read when Sandra Naujoks' chips went in, up against Philip Meulyzer.
Naujoks: for middle set
Meulyzer: for a flush draw
It wasn't the flush that did her in though - the turn and river came the and respectively, making Meulyzer a Broadway straight and sending the EPT Dortmund champion to the rail. Meulyzer is up to 85,000.
Sandra Naujoks opened to 1,100 preflop, getting called by Michael Tureniec and Bodo Sbrzesny behind her. The flop was a dry-looking and Naujoks fired out 2,300, Tureniec flat-called and Sbrzesny folded.
The turn proved interesting and Naujoks fired a second bullet, this time Tureniec took a little longer but still called the 4,100 bet. Both players checked the river and Naujoks turned over - then the Swede turned over - chopped pot!
Pierre Neuville is up to around 50,000 after betting out 5,500 on the river of a and getting paid off by Viktor Wessmann who made a "pffft" sound and tossed his cards into the muck when Neuville turned over /
We have already concluded that table 13 is the worst one in the room for players seated at it due to its pro heavy nature, which means picking up chips is not only harder to do for them but it is also vital as one mistake could end their night.
James Sudworth has just picked up some much needed chips and currently sits on around 18,200. He open raised to 950 from middle position and picked up three callers in the shape of Andrea Piva in the cutoff, Dmitry Zhukov in the small blind and finally Kevin Stani sat in the big blind.
The dealer put out the flop, both blinds checked then everyone folded when Mr Sudworth fired a continuation bet totalling 2,075. Easy game!
