Min-win for small blind William Ross, just now. Amused disappointment would be an accurate description of his reaction, when he raised as the action passed to him. Big blind Kristijonas Andrulis said, "Borderline!" before showing and passing.
"There's not much I'm folding there," he added. It's true.
Mariusz Klosinski opened preflop to 3,500 from late position, Sebastian Ruthenberg then reraised to 7,200 next to him. Passed back to the Pole who wasted no time in pushing his entire 40,000 stack into the middle.
"Call," said the Team PokerStars Pro, turning over as Klosinski flipped .
The board came just teasing a possible upset but the turn sealed the deal and the river was academic.
Start of day chip leader Sander Berndsen has taken a hammering today, dropping to 77,000 which is only around average. Meanwhile the TV table is off limits until the break, but Roberto Romanello was facing the right way for a quick count.
Dermot Blain (who had run deep at San Remo last year) had raised preflop and been called by the blinds Nedzib Suman and Jens Thorson (who'd also gone deep in San Remo).
The flop came and it was checked to Irishman Blain who bet 6,000. Suman made the call and Thorson folded before the turn.
Suman checked again and Blain bet 9,600 this time but suddenly and almost a little unexpectedly, Suman check-raised to 26,000 total. Blain did not instantly fold to this bet either and counted down his stack before making the call.
The river was the and any hope of more action was quickly extinguished when Suman checked back to the Irishman - who checked behind. Suman flipped for the turned flush and Blain simply said, "Flush? Flush is good."
Suman added another 40,000 or so to his stack as Blain dropped a substantial amount.
